Going to be difficult to take down hypersonics with lasers, and their minimum time to disable incoming weapons. Lasers maybe able to deal with subsonic and maybe even low supersonic, but getting an incoming that's going fast enough is a tough problem.

Without direct assistance from it's allies, Israel would have taken significant damage as the dome was overwhelmed, Israel and the IDF always play down their losses and weaknesses.

People forget israel lives in a weapons testing lab. They are very motivated to field capable equipment, they can get nearly real time results and no other defense industry in the world has access to that tandem of living where your systems are actively being used regularly. This was like the trophy active protection system for armored vehicles. We went out there after like a year of design work. These guys had a system that had video proof of it being used FIGHTING-not testing or in a lab-and 100% hit rate. They didn't magically achieve this first try. Tweaked, it as results came in. The biggest part of that was the actual video that they had onboard merkavas, recreating an accurate exchange of fire is hard. Point being, we're not dumb we tossed everything we were planning asked how much a unit and when can we start getting them😂 at very best we could take possibly years, ton of money fabricating and testing, and at very best we can tie their performance at 100% 😅 israel makes some slick military equipment, but it comes at a terribly high cost. Reality is nothing is 100 percent, systems fail, break, or the other side developed a counter to it. There's anecdotal stories of designers, ebgineers, fabrication teams making a mistake that hurt or killed people they knew, friends family members neighbors etc. Given the chaos there for so long, I wouldn't bet against that not happening. I suspect though its just a helluva way to end your start up meetings in the mornings so everyones heads in the right place. Bet its pretty effective .
