Israel's Military Ops In Iran: Explosions In Isfahan, Drones Shot Down |

Iran activated its air defence systems on Friday after the state media reported explosions near Isfahan, more than 2000 km south of Tehran.
ABC News, quoting US sources, reported that Israeli missiles hit a site in Iran.. Authorities in Iran though have denied the 'missile claim' with state media confirming Iran's air defences opened fire on drones, bringing them down.
US officials have confirmed to CNN that Israel carried out military operations in Iran, without giving out any specifics.
As per NYT, Iranian officials said a strike had hit a military base near Isfahan.
Tehran suspended flights over several cities including Isfahan, Shiraz and Tehran...before flight operations were normalised
Commercial flights began diverting their routes over Iran on Friday morning.
The airspace suddenly cleared out over Iran, according to flight tracking website Flightradar24.
Many of Iran's nuclear sites are located in Isfahan province. This includes Natanz, which is the centerpiece of Iran’s uranium enrichment program. Iran state media have said the nuclear sites in Isfahan are 'completely secure'
This is the first military response from Israel less than a week after Iran's direct attack on Tel Aviv with over 300 missiles and drones.Israel. Iran's attack on Israel came in response to a suspected Israeli strike on its diplomatic compound in Syria. Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu had said Israel would make its own decision on how to defend itself.
This even as global leaders called for restraint to prevent any further escalation in the already tense region. In the midst of talk of Israel's retaliation, Iran has said it would respond to any aggression from Israel.
Analysts and observers have been raising concerns about the risks of the Israel-Gaza war spreading into the rest of the region. Hours before the latest escalation of tension, Iran told the UNSC that Israel 'must be compelled to stop any further military adventurism against our interests'.
The tit-for-tat steps taken by Israel and Iran will continue to keep an already strained region on the edge
