My cousin was in siachen glaicer after academy and only few with strong mindset can do this and live there for months. As he told me that on the top whole, fight was to stay alive and done your job and return safely. God bless to everyone who are protecting us and who lost their life, god bless to their families. Wow this episode was complete goosebumps. I was watching in large screen with big sound and the Indian flag at the 45th minute was such a fine piece of storytelling. The photography, music and storytelling was immaculate. This series is the best tribute to Indian Army (I have neighbor and colleague who have served). Mention must be made of Nb Sub. Bana Singh PVC, who captured Siachen post from the Pakistanis in 1987. Nb. Sub. Bana Singh and his team climbed an ice wall of 450 m in a blizzard to capture the Siachen post from the Pakistanis. He was from J&K.

Dad was a helicopter pilot there before the cease fire, he said he could see puffs of snow below whenever he was reaching the forward bases. He was told many sorties later by his senior, thats the Pakistanis shelling us, that is artillery missing us & hitting the snow. (u can't hear the bangs in a MI-8)

@@amitabhrevi yea there are many, like the time delivering metal ladder to the base of Bana post with Mi-8 flying at 21000ft. It was expected that most likely after dropping the ladder, the helicopter would crash into the mountain, but someone had to do it otherwise the post would have been lost. Luckily they managed to avoid it or I wouldn’t have been born 😅.

Hope IAF soon get LUH after all necessary certifications so that they could fly inside the safety limits of Haptor & also be able to perform task in more easy way for maintainers & army personals... also the amount of good quality PR footage you guys are making is really good to appeal for people living tier 1 or metros.. This brings me back to 1984 when I was being trained to be a Forward Air Controller in Siachen. A tough but memorable 45 days on the highest battlefield on Earth... The views are absolutely amazing so beautiful that some soldiers get a disconnect from reality sometimes... hence you have to have group training and drills, call and write to the family... Drinking is strictly prohibited because it can be deadly. Jai Hind!

Thanks for the great documentary! It's my dream to be able to go to Siachen until the Teram Shehr bend or beyond, and climb one of the 7000m Kangris on Saltoro or Apsarasas Ridge. One one hand, the Soldiers must enjoy being in such an exclusive amphitheatre of giant peaks and glaciers, but on the other hand they lead the most difficult lives possible with immense pressure and imminent threats.

We have been cycling since September 2023 from Arunachal to Sikkim to Uttarakhand on BRO roads. BRO is one of the best organisations in the world and really needs to be awarded the highest award in the country. Working conditions for its workers , casual labourers needs to be paid special attention to on a war footing. We see their lives up close as we crawl up mountains each day and their squalor and poverty is very moving. In some parts there are children of stone breakers also present and some beg from tourists for money and food. On the highways to Tawang scores of local women break stones all day with no facilities for shelter or food. A truck picks up and drops them each day. Some even have six month old babies strapped to their backs.
