This is the full context of Mufti's response in regards to the issue of Israel, Palestine and possible solutions.
Mufti Abu Layth explains the events that took place last year regarding Israels attack on Palestine, UAE relationship with Israel as well as muslims attacking Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and Shaykh Abdullah Bin Bayyah. A video has been circulating that was uploaded from another KZbin channel, it misrepresented Mufti's stance by giving the video a very provocative title and only showing a small portion of Mufti's response. This has led to other scholars and preachers cutting out small clips that are out of context and sharing them on social media to instigate hate against Mufti Abu Layth.

People you need to realize this mufti is giving his own thoughts. This is what HE thinks. However, it does not coincide with what is said in the quran and sunnah. What Mufti is proposing is what exactly happened to the Albanian Muslims of Chameria. The Greeks did a genocide over them and then part of those who were Muslim, were welcomed by Turkey with the conditions that they would be enter the state as "Turks" (Greece called every Muslim a Turk back then), part of them escaped to Albania, and others who refused to leave their land and change their religion to Christian Orthodox, were massacred. Palestinians leaving Palestine will lose that identity. They will be a people living dispersed all over the Middle East. A people without a homeland. The back and forth going on in the Dawah scene not only takes away from the need to show and have a unified solidarity on condemning/protesting events happening in the world right now, but it is reflecting the opposite of being vocal on advocating for the right for peace, righteousness and freedom. It definitely does not represent Islamic values when disagreements with harsh negative connotations attached are being spewed. Islam is a religion of peace - something which regardless of sects/denominations is amicably agreed upon in the ummah. Surely importance should be given more towards concerns for lives being directly affected by literally what is going on right now rather than escalations and tensions arising in the Dawah scene. Of course that is not to say that escalations that have resulted in a serious incident should not be condemned.

@@abdullahk8691 The Quran is our criterion between right and wrong. Read the Quranic Hijrah verses regarding those who are oppressed. : 4.135, 4.97, 39.10, 4.98-99, 4.100, 8.72. This as a last resort if the 'Muslim countries' do not intervene or come to the aid of the Palestinians (which is most likley to be the case, as recent history shows). So Abu Layth's opinion in this regard has Quranic bases (even if it goes against our personal wishes). And God knows best

For the most part this is a very restrained and thoughtful response to the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The idea of moving an entire people seems extreme at first but as it is explained here it makes sense; it would cost a lot less than continuing this useless never-ending war and it would solve a lot of other problems as well. Do you really believe that Israel would attack Gaza or any other Arab country if the Hamas charter did not call for the total destruction of Israel simply because they are not Muslim? The argument that the Israeli response was out of all proportion is invalid because Jew-hatred begins in the Qur'an and has been fostered to the present day by Muslim teachers and parents who teach young children to hate Israel practically from birth. No, the responsibilty for the carnage in Gaza rests on the shoulders of Hamas. Right after the cease-fire the leader of Hamas hoisted up a child dressed in military fatigues and holding a bloody big machine gun to show the world the next generations of martyrs in the cause of Allah. Still, I congratulate Mufti Abu Layth for his uncommon common sense in an upside-down world.

Israel is not a terror state and it has not committed war crimes. There were mistakes and wrongdoings in the context of a war, but all in all, Israel has responded in the only way possible to otherwise overwhelming threats. It is also unfair to downplay the impact of the incendiary devices that have been terrorising agriculture, homes and schools in civilian regions. You cannot downplay the depravity of groups like Hamas who are firing from within civilian zones at civilian zones. You are right to talk about how important Jerusalem is to Jews, but why only refer to the West of the River Jordan when talking about Palestinians? Wasn't East of it (where Jordan is now) also the Ottoman region of Palestine? (Never a state btw) I am for coexistence and whether Arab Palestinians stay or go is up to them, but anyone who stays should embrace coexistence. The same goes for Israelis.
