Rather lacking funding to include RTGs as a source of heat/electricity. We have to depend on solar energy for our energy needs and thus making our missions vulnerable to dark nights. RTGs use radioactive Pu 239 which is very costly and can increase the cost of our missions. If someday we have to study moon deeply, then we will have to include them since we cannot wait for the end of lunar day.
