I find that as naturals hair get longer, they opt for stylers with less hold, high definition and some volume. Most of us just want our length to show and curls to pop! When your hair is long and heavy, that heavy hold isn’t as necessary because it’s gonna hang, you’re gonna get your length. I’ve started retaining length and notice I still want hold but I can deal more as it puffs up because I have a preferred amount of length/definition. Do you find this to be true?

My hair flourished too when I stopped flat irioning for about 2 years then it went back to acting up when I applied heat again. 😑So no heat flourishes the hair.

I actually did look into the science of it for fun. The little research I found said curl training was mild damage or chemical change. Damage would be like when people heat train their curls to drop or loosen slightly more or consistently stretch their hair to set their length and eventually hair just does it on its own - you're really just breaking hair bonds using heat/tension. Chemical change is from the ingredients in products and the example is like repeatedly using gel - over time small layers get left behind even with washing and this build up forces the hair into shape . I couldn't find anything about harsh risks to hair health though.
@MzMahoganyHoneyBrown3 жыл бұрын
I doubt it's the products she uses since it doesn't seem like she consistently uses the same product. She is just consistent with wearing wash n go, which means her hair is forced to lay/curl in a particular way most of the time. It's like if you repeatedly wear your hair in a side part, your hair will begin to naturally fall that way.
@denyshadials57023 жыл бұрын
I doubt that as well. I clarify 2-3 times with sulfates every time I shampoo. Absolutely nothing is left behind. I don’t know that I would call it ‘curl training/moisture training’ rather I think it’s a difference in your hair being used to ‘wet styling’ vs. ‘dry styling’. Regardless of hair type and texture, there is a some type of change taking place when hair constantly wet styled over time. When I first started wash n gos, I needed large amounts of water and products, a couple years later, I get months of use out of all my products. Now when I try to dry style (twistouts), my elasticity is so strong that those styles never last longer than day, no matter how I approach it or the strength of products I use. My curl pattern always come through at the end.
