Thanks for posting this Danny! I just recently started driving mine after installing a new input shaft for the Mcleoud and it makes the SAME exact noise! I thought I was going crazy or screwed something up.

Dan, I did this exact same process last year on my ‘03 vert after watching your videos. I needed to replace the clutch, flywheel, TOB, pilot bearing, clutch fork. I bought that input shaft which arrived in same packaging. It has the same noise as yours. The only thing I didn’t do was shim the countershaft as I had no shims. That process was done in a video I believe by Tick performance. I drained transmission fluid a few months ago and didn’t notice anything major, fluid looked good. I will sell my setup and go with the magnum in the future.

I’m dealing with the same issue as we speak. Thought it was a shimming issue, took it to a trans shop to confirm the shimming. Turns out the main gear of the input shaft was poorly machined (unevenly) causing a harsh sound even worse than yours. I demanded a new input shaft from the vendor and working on that now

Few years ago my T-56 Reverse went out and one other gear that I can’t remember .my Cousin owns a transmission shop but he ended up sending it out to a certified Tremck dealer to repair the Transmission and upgrade to the 26 spline shaft . I also noticed it was a little more Noisier and I was told that’s normal 🤦🏻

There are 2 suppliers of this shaft in the after market. The one you have (REM polished) and ours (which is black in color and sold under Part # T56-16F).

Unrelated i know but you're probably my best chance at getting a straight answer for this; Im piecing together info for a explorer 302 + 4R70W swap into my 3.9 mustang and i was wondering what fuel system it has, a return or returnless style? i know that if its the same as the explorer engine i can just run fuel lines to the stock fittings and it'll work but converting to one or the other is the problem, so far ive figured the engine mounts are about the same and id probably just need 94/95 rubber mounts, the transmission mounting is the exact same, and i can use bendy steel hoses for radiator hoses or retro-fit the explorer coolant system, then steel lines for power steering and keep the stock ECU Basically converting the OEM drivetrain 1:1 for the explorer's then converting whats in the chassis from factory to work with it, taking stuff off the explorer or 94-04 GT cars as needed Any info you can give helps, forums arent being very helpful other than cross referencing parts but that only goes so far

The V6 Mustang should have returnless as it also has the fuel pump driver module (fpdm). If you run into a lot of trouble, a return system is pretty straight forward but you’ll need a tune Fore Return Fuel System Installation: Ford Mustang 03/04 Cobra, GT, Saleen, Bullitt, Roush kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKXImnatfq2op5o

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Cool thank you, it seems after '99 ford switched explorer's to use returnless systems for emissions purposes so i just need to adapt the v6's fuel lines to it and swap the pump from the explorer

Where did you acquire the shims that you used?

It's almost like they couldn't tell you our product is "proudly made in the USA" The ole epidemic of bad manufacturing that's been happening here in the United States strikes again. All the best Danny.

I fear it could also be it’s made in china and they don’t want to say so.
