Hello, so I’ve noticed that BRS tends to have somewhat of an influence on Neptune Systems and Hanna. That said, I’ve recently seen that I believe GHL and possibly others have nitrate/phosphate monitoring in addition to Alk, Ca, and Mg monitoring. May I suggest you guys give the folks at Neptune systems a nudge in the direction of adding nitrate and phosphate monitoring to the Trident system either in an add on unit, integrated into current Trident, etc. also it would be great to see Hanna add a high range nitrate checker to bypass having to alter the low range checker results to interpolate high range numbers. Based on my phosphate levels I’ve had to keep my Nitrates at between 10 to 20 in a previous 4 month battle to get rid of cyano and multiple forms of algae. Again, please nudge Neptune Systems and Hanna about this if possible. I’m sure most Apex/Trident and Hanna users would jump on this if available.

So if my cheato is melting/turning white that means the light is to strong?

Usually, yes. There are certain trace elements that can also come into play that macro algae uses up. In conjunction with considering to lower the light intensity, dosing a product like ChaetoGro may also help. Really is just adding un-needed complication and cost to, what I find, is the simplest system I have in my tanks.
