PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT - There is a lot of negativity in the world right now, and this video is meant to highlight the positive aspects of Istanbul - Something different than what we see in mainstream media right now. I lived in Istanbul for three months and met some of the most kindhearted, and inviting people. I understand that the political and ideological differences within the city (and country) are very complex, and I pray for the safety and compassion for all citizens of this incredible place. Istanbul is one of my favorite cities in the world, and I hope this video showcases how happy I was living there, and for that reason all negative comments against each other will be removed. Please spread LOVE not HATE.

BUT YOU FORGOT A LOT OF THINGS. FOR EXAMPLE, THEY DON'T LET ONLY MAN TO ENTER TO THESE CLUBS. THEY EVEN WRITE AT DOOR 'DAMSIZ GİRİLMEZ' MEANING NO ENTRANCE TO MAN WITHOUT WOMAN. AND ANOTHER FACT IS EVERY YEAR HUNDREDS OF TURKISH GIRLS ARE KILLED BY THEIR FAMILIES BECAUSE THEY VISITED SUCH CLUBS, AND THOUSANDS KILLED BECAUSE OF ADULTERY. ALMOST EVERYDAY THERE IS A HONORKILLING BECAUSE A GIRL WANTED TO LIVE A FREE LIFE LIKE YOUR VIDEO. AND FROM TIME TO TIME THEY BOMB OR GUNATTACK SUCH CLUBS BECAUSE IT IS A DANGER FOR THEIR LIFE STYLE, FOR EXAMPLE, HERE IN YOUR VIDEO YOUR FAVORITE CLUB REINA WAS ATTACKED AT NEWYEAR NIGHT AND 39 PEOPLE WERE KILLED, 65 INJURED, ETC. ETC. AND MUCH MUCH MORE THINGS THAT YOU FORGOT....

But Faralya is my favourite place in Turkey, minus the climb down to butterfly valley, I'll never do that again. Also the fish market in Fethiye. What an amazing experience. I'm going back to Fethiye for sure.

Many of those places are basically where I lived through my undergraduates in Istanbul. I spent a lot of nights in Faces, Vida, Balkon and Besiktas spots too. Now I'm 30, I still live in Istanbul but I'm not a bar-club goer anymore. Though I sometimes miss the carelesness, friendship, fun and freedom of those nights. One thing you should know about night life in Istanbul: It's expensive in Turkish Liras for our spending power. But I think you'll be just fine with EUR or USD based income.

Turkey is a beautiful country. However we Turks have semi-Arabic ones like Mahdi 21, they lose their Turk identity and become Arabics. These people were minority 20 years ago but nowadays they are majority. They are trying to change Turkey to a country like Syria, Saudi Arabia or Iran. They partly did it. After they succeed we cannot see these colorful places. They hate seeing entertaining people, they hate seeing girl and boy loving each other, they hate art. They hate everything which is beautiful. They are not living islam in their side. They want everybody to be like them. Unfortunately USA and Europe helped these people to be majority here, they supported Turkish economy with their money and created a baloon economy this showed government party successful even they are not and government party increased their votes and power at all areas, they are currently controlling all media and any television channels/programs cannot critise government, if they did, that channel/program is closing down. And people lose their jobs if they critise government party here. We are losing last secular democratic muslim country where people can live freely. Then maybe USA will try to divide us into pieces such as Kurdistan, islamic Turkey, secular Turkey... Like they did in Iraq and Syria. Because they cannot do this to a secular country. Any power cannot divide a powerfull secular country, thats why USA bring AKP (government party which controls all media in Turkey) to head at 2002 and supported them with their all power. Now we are losing beatiful Turkey to these islamic fasists. We cannot get rid of them. Head of government party is acting like a dictator here. We seculars are now minority. And there is nothing save us aganist islamic barbarians according to terms of law. Bad people are everywhere here nowadays, they rape small girls, hit girls wearing skirts and they are not punished. They are caught and two days later they are freed. By the way thanks Uem Z for your comment and sorry for going out of topic. I could not stop without saying anything when I see Mahdi's comments. Lots of educated seculars leaving country nowadays. They are going other countries and living there. Its realy sad for me to see my beatiful country is changing to a standard middle east country. I tried everythig to stop it but our power is not enough.

I was born and grown up in Istanbul. Then left to study in US and last 8 years I ve been living in London. I visited many cities countries accross the world, especially in Europe. There are few cities like Istanbul; if you are wealthy enough you can t get that life anywhere else in the world. But sadly all about the money. Istanbul has everything and the best of everything; but the problem 95% of locals cannot even dream about that and that 5% lives a king & queen life there. This is not like that in Europe. Such as in the UK even beeing Royal doesn t make you feel that much Royal as being a wealthy person in Istanbul, Moscow, Athens, Shangai, Singapore.

yes but secular so nobody gives a shit about religion generally speaking more than 50% of turkey isnt going to a mosque at all and 30-35% going to a mosque after nightclub :D turkey is quite similar to european countries with different culture of course turkish culture generally clash with islamic culture turks are natural drinkers while its haram in islam turkey has been secular since 1923 so many generations had past you can see a few religious people around but not many and nationalist ideas are more widespread than islamic ideas around im personally atheist so no we arent generally muslim and state has no official religion instead it recognizes every religion equally also non religious groups too

turkoman most probably turkey became like this after ww1 if I'm correct
@fuatkara60807 жыл бұрын
yes but we abandoned religious ideology and became rational and scientific in order to do that we had to shut down a lot of religious organisations (which were constantly revolting since 18th century in ottoman era) closed the religious schools and reopened them as pure scientific ones there were a few revolts when it happend people didnt wanted the change but in the end everyone was happy we changed arabic alphabet to latin put a bullet in the head of the ottoman language used a modernized version of old turkic language instead and literacy boomed instantly from 10% to 50-60% in a few years

In the video, there are no different offers with İstanbul than the other cities have. But let me tell you what; There is another city in Turkey called İZMİR. It's the 3rd biggest, but the most beautiful town in Turkey. You can both find entertainment and historical places. And less crowded than İstanbul. For this reason, you can find more peace of mind during your vacation. I strongly recommend for those who plan to travel to Turkey. Additionally, you should meet the people of İzmir. You'll not forget your memories about İzmir.

Istanbul is good ... As long as you don't have to get into the traffic. Turkey is going into a deep depression and economic crisis though. Be careful man.
@ArinGokdemir7 жыл бұрын
That's not exactly true. Financially, the tourism industry here is suffering due to the recent terrorist attacks, but the Turkish economy is doing well generally.
@ArdaKaraduman7 жыл бұрын
Hah tabi görürsem söylerim. Up above me is a Troll probably fed by the AKP government. Turkish economy is collapsing, which will only accelerate when Trump signs in and FED raises the USD interest rates. www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=USD&to=TRY&view=5Y www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-01/turkish-lira-crashes-all-time-lows-biggest-drop-failed-coup-attempt That's not just the interest on USD though. AKP floundered an economy totally fed by construction and real estate marketing. We have consumed that market as well. Real estate market will plunge because demand is all time low because people dont have money, and what they have losing its value day by day. Not to mention Tourism, which is (was) one of the pillars of turkish economy. Nobody wants to visit a place where you have a bombing / terrorist event every two weeks. Turkey is going down a deep shit hole, and it won't be quite a while before it plunges back, if it can ever.
