Isuzu Trooper Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

Worth changing out the distributor O-ring seal while in there. Sometimes what looks like a rear VC leak on these is just the cheap o-ring. Easy to pull it out with the valve cover off.

Hi there ! Just picked up a 89 Guy said he replaced valve cover gasket because it was leaking. Looks like it still is ! I need to get it to stop leaking. Looking forward to your video and any others and tips if you got any !

Yeah make sure the gasket surfaces are cleaned very well I’m sure he probably didn’t clean it. Then use some RTV on the front and back parts of the gasket like I show in the video. Let me know if that works man!

Yes what’s your with the half seal thing in the back ? Guy I bought it off said he made a piece for that It’s leaking quite a bit in a 30 mile run

Yeah if he made something for it you should definitely buy a new valve cover gasket.

well I completely missed the part where you installed the seal and gasket - main part and i thought you would tell wether or not to use any sealant or what type

Hi yeah I didn’t show me putting the gasket on the cover I definitely should have but you just put a light coat of the permatex black oil resistant rtv on the whole gasket and a little bit extra on the little rubber half circle on the back of the valve cover. Hope this helps let me know
