This episode should go into the history books for the colour that you have captured, both on the ground and aerial shots. The soundtrack is full of emotion as well.

Travel safely with that fix. I've got faith, not alot. But I couldn't imagine doing anything better with the same tools/materials. Bloody oath, everyone needs an Adrian.

Glad you’re enjoying the CSR I have been looking forward to seeing you guys going down here for a while !!! It’s a tough track and will find faults … I have spoken to people who reckon they have done it and it was cruizy … I can almost guarantee they haven’t done it … It’s a great experience, hope you enjoy! We did it back in 1997 Wish I could do it again Just love the place ! Remember a couple of days though we spent all day in 2nd and 3rd low range … 10 hrs behind the wheel and about 120 km driven .. Bloody hard work ! Keep up the amazing footage !

Thank you for another awesome episode. I think it is a good idea what you clear off those trees, good for you and those who are coming after you. Love the drone of the lake and the drive around. Your sunset and sunrise footage are always top knotch 👌. My husband and I are talking about the Canning and how we can travel if there's just two of us because none of our friends like roadtrip n we don't know anyone that like this lind of stuff. I still think it's doable as long as we are well prepared, a good off-road vehicle, and take it slow and a lot of research.
@oldbloke204
@oldbloke204 Жыл бұрын
Not something I would want to tackle in one vehicle tbh. You will have to carry absolutely everything whereas if you have a couple of vehicles then some things can be carried by each vehicle. Can you contact some 4wd clubs or travel forums to try and find others who may want to do it?
@ouradventerousdays
@ouradventerousdays Жыл бұрын
@oldbloke204 My husband said the same. It will be too difficult to travel just 1 car, we need travel companions and thank you, we will do research and find people to travel with.

Incredible ingenuity by all (Adrian) for that bush fix. Will +1 with the welding gear comment... Bring some electrodes and weld with 2X starter batteries connected with jumper leads. Could possibly bandit(?) strap after welding. Awesome stuff guys. Congrats on the incredible trip!

would be great for smaller things, but Adrian says with the load and flex it would mist likely fatigue and break again

@@RoamingRooma yeah the springs weren’t right but I didn’t have time to change them until I got to Perth. I got next ones up and it’s sitting great now. The thing about the tank is you don’t have to fill it to the brim every time, just when we need it and I have needed it a couple of times this trip. I just have zero room for jerrys. But that being said you’ll really hate our tank in a few episodes 😅 cheers for watching mate glad you like the videos :)

I would like to know tyre pressures in the truck.I have seen those same isuzu trucks crawl over soft dunes.Also it would be better to have the truck in front if the track was more unused eg the toyoto,s are making the tyre width on the track very narrow as truck is making it,s own path on the loose section as it has a wider wheel track.

Is it possible to remove some of the weight off the truck? challenging i bet. Or maybe move some of the weight towards the rear axle.

@OverlandTravellers
@OverlandTravellers Жыл бұрын
Hey mate , glad you like the episode. Welders are very handy for small fixes but unfortunately you can’t weld a leaf spring as it will break in the same location due to the way they are made being forged steel.

@@OverlandTravellers I have welded a few springs over the years with 2 x 12volt 680cca starter batterys out of the 4wds with 2mm 309 S/s rods they held well, just need the one joining cable and welding lead and earth lead and mask and rods,

24v welding works a treat. Used to keep Plenty of Landcruisers together over the years from welding rear axles to the hubs when studs break and even made a rear Tailshaft for an 80 series in the vic high country. 🤣

I don't get the point of the truck without a big self contained permanent living space at all. It's all of the negatives of a truck with none of the positives.
