I bought one second hand and it had no fittings. Could someone here please post a picture of what they look like ? The things that attach the rtt to the roof racks/ tray.

I’ve sometimes wondered what you do with the original gear that is taken off the car. I guess you try and sell it on?

Doing 50-60 will smash the shit out of any 4x4. The best time of year is in May for the Gibb. The Pentacoast crossing is up to you floor and the waterfalls are running much better.

We have friends that are about to take off with a group to do the CSR starting at the north end. I wanted to watch something so I could understand what they will encounter, and this series has been awesome. I am going to purchase your ebook and have it printed and bonded to give to them as a gift. Great wrap up on the CSR.

Thanks guys. looks great. When leaving Alice, are there directions to Mt Dare (on Google/Apple Maps/Hema ?) to get onto Binns Track? Is it mostly dirt or some/most tar? Can we camp somewhere on Binns on the way, because it looks so nice, or should we plan to go straight through to Mt Dare in one day?

Great video guys, a fair bit of logistics for a trip like that, very informative, kinda puts things into perspective regarding how big Australia is, think the Canning is just over 1100 miles and I live in Scotland, mainland Scotland is about 350 miles end to end 🙂.

That Prado at the 14:30 min mark... belongs to friends of ours. Burnt to the ground by spinefex just one day into their trip. They tried everything to save their emergency stuff and still lost it all the fire was that fast. If they had been alone out there they would have been screwed. They finally completed the Canning with us in July 23. It was such a traumatising experience that they were horrified to learn the car had just been pushed off the road and left there. They were hoping to never see it again. They wrote it a nice goodbye note in one of the doors and we finished the stock route that day. (South North) They were experienced and prepared people too. Can happen to anyone! Enjoying watching content from the same season!

It is a beautiful conversation, but I would suggest more of a soft roader of conversations. 1. Latches - All conversations suffer from this as they all move on those bumpy corrugated roads. 2. Trap doors - I am not sold on the idea because if you are blessed to be dexterous enough to climb through a small hole, you are then left with the fact you have to loose valuable cupboard space below so you can get out on both sides 🤷🏻‍♂️. 3. Mattresses - we could call this the Goldilocks syndrome 😂. They will forever be the one personal item the manufacturers can’t pin down because everyone is different 🙈 4. Leaking/cracking - While I hear you about mattresses etc and “your” mistake, I have not heard of any issues with the other conversions breaking like this 🤔. Only latches should be designed to break when over filling or movement on bad roads is needed. 5. Headspace’s big winner was they had a slim look conversion? The irony is now that product development has happened and they can fit bedding in they are now the same height as the competitors. I’ll finish by saying (with bias 😊) that my new AluCab 2024 gen 3 Hercules is awesome. It is still probably second to the looks of the headspace, but you won’t beat it for ruggedness I suspect. It has additional space for pillows etc with the standard mattress which is much better than the old . Finally thanks for your honesty, maybe one day we’ll see the headspace here in South Africa. Australia made is great, but true success is having world wide dealerships.🤙

I had the same problem with a Brown Davis tank on the Gibb several years ago. I contacted them and sent me a new tank. But I had to pay the freight to Darwin. I've got another BD tank on my BT50 now for 10 years. Been fine so far.. Contact BD and get it replaced under warranty. The fact people see this problem in your videos isn't good PR.
