Ally, security guy here... if the alarm is just set off once it may be ignored. It could be a fly, piece of paper or whatever. A lot of security companies will only do a superficial check if it's a single activation. The mistake you guys make is to check, and setting it off again... that gives you away. Just leave it and probability is you won't be found out.

In fact, in court jail should not even be considered an option because of the lack of gravity of his alleged crimes. Most of the public order offences cover things such as fighting in the street and public mischief. I think someone tried to take Ally to court on the basis that he made a cup of tea at one of the places at which he did An Overnight Challenge. He does not threaten people, he does not do any criminal damage, he does not break anything to gain access to buildings, he does not assault people - thus it will be hard for the CPS to convict him of a serious criminal offence. He probably knows the system so that he can give a good police interview and he probably knows he rights very well - that being silent when he is arrested is his right.

Sensors on the doors, motion sensors, CCTV etc. I think as videos of overnight challenges have got more popular, a lot of these places have stepped up their game when it comes to security. The system wasn't any sort of security alarm as such. The alarm that was going off was the fire alarm. The main panel was only beeping because it was in a "scan" mode. This is triggered when a fire escape is opened but the system isn't sure whether there is a fire or not. This is to prevent false positives to stop wasting the fire alarm management company's time, as well as the fire department's time. The system was checking the fire detectors and smoke detectors to see if there was any fire. The building did happen to have a security system installed, but as the man was in the building at the time, he didn't want to set off the system himself. The sensor that was above the doorway was a PIR motion detector linked to the security system. But, yet again, the system wasn't armed. The more you know ;)

+Mindiowa 18303 . Is there even a 'breaking and entering' offence in England ? If there was, what did he break to enter ? I haven't seen him smash any doors or windows. I've seen the cops arrest him on suspicion of burglary, but burglary requires the intent to commit an offence such as theft or criminal damage. Once they find out he was just filming some videos they let him go. That's why he can get away with these videos, what he does is only trespass which is a civil matter between him and the property owner.

I once worked in security, in the mid 2000s so a long time ago. Even then we monitored buildings from London , in places like China and France. If someone opened a fire door, we would get it flagged up on our computer. We would then notify someone on the call out list that a door has been opened. The alarm on the door most likely wouldn’t have made a noise to the person opening the door but we knew ( thousands of miles away ) that it had been opened. So opening that fire door probably alerted the monitoring security company.
