Welcome to PIMP MY RIDE Colorado edition. Thanks, Kase, today's life lesson "I didn't let perfect get in the way of good enough." I am older than the truck and also have a lot of grey showing through. I also have some wrinkles that won't come out. Also a fan of this chevy body style.

Im restoring my first truck ever a 1996 K1500 etc cab with a vortec 350 all original engine and transmission. Still runs like new at 268 thousand miles. Ironically I went for a GM Black from the 90s paint code at NAPA for my truck lol. Can’t beat a solid black!

Kase, you and David work so well together like father and son. David has an immense amount of wisdom and desire to get things done. With that being said, Kase you really have a strong desire to learn and apply knowledge. At 47 I have always sought out wisdom from guys like David, and just like him I pass it down to the next guy. This is one of the things that we are missing in today’s world, thanks guys for living what others need to see. Blessings to all of your adventures, I looking forward in seeing what comes next.

Old trucks are the best. I picked up a 1987 Dodge Ram D150 3 years ago thinking it would be a stopgap until I could get a newer truck. After replacing the suspension, brakes, fixing oil leaks, fixing the interior... it's now going nowhere. My neighbor has been trying to buy it for a few years now and I have to keep politely telling him no! :-)

That engine has a 4bbl intake with a 2bbl tbi. There’s a spacer between the TB and the intake. Gaskets on top and bottom of the spacer. The spacer has coolant flowing through it so mind the coolant hoses to and from it. Check power steering pressure switch as well as AC switch. They also increase idle when in use by way of the IAC. You can also spray around the intake with starter fluid or something else safe to use and see if the idle changes to locate where a vacuum leak may be.

As far as the vibration, if it happens on acceleration, pull the rear driveshaft and see if the u-joints are free!! If it happens always, check the motor mounts! If the vibration happens all the time, maybe the new rubber will do the trick! Hope that helps. Great job boys!!👍🏻

Brings back memories of my first NEW truck an 1988, 2500 Chevy 4x4. The main ( and only, bracket a first for Chevy I believe ) bracket that holds all the accessories on the engine on mine was cracked and caused flex to occur which burned up 5 alternators before the dealership figured out what was the root cause for the failures.

Other than mine being a Silverado trim with a th400 and red interior mine is identical.
