So amazing that in 2022 we still have new products available for our Amiga, thank you for the mention about this product as I had never heard of it, though I have a SCSI2SD in my A2000. Yes Chris Edwards is a great asset to the Amiga community and suggest people subscribe to his channel, he brings life back to Amigas where none existed before. Great guy and funny also.

This video got randomly recommended to me, what I understood: You're supposed to fondle the package in which your Amiga comes, Scuzzy is how you get the fancy Amiga2000 and Amiga300 working. But the Scuzzies are becoming extinct due to chip shortage, thankfully a new species the Blue Scuzzy and The Rasp Scuzzy are emerging, they quickly reproduced and made a Zulu Scuzzy. They have missing parts, yet they can't use a Bus to move around, they need the Floppy Connector. Some of them terminate themselves because they are jumpers, but others become Fat (32) and they need images as Hard Files named very specifically HD0 and HD1, and oh, the images were H.D.A.s all along! Great now let's turn to the Amiga2500, we're gonna do things to it with its buddy the G.D.P.H.D.8+Series2 Scuzzy. Just put the INI on the thing, go to N.U.E.E., put the workbench and bypass the Floppy thing and BOOM! it's running! I've sincerely no idea what background you need to understand and find this video useful, but damn your A.P.M. and J.P.M. are impressive! (Acronyms Per Second, Jargon Per Second)

Great content! I recently purchases a Zulu and no other setup video, post, or "support" mentioned that I would have to use my PPS Zeus 040 accelerator software to prep the drive. I spent hours trying to get my Zulu drives to show up until I saw your video and watched it. Moments later and it's working! Thank you!

How well does the Macintosh firmware work? I might think about getting one of these to replace the SCSI CD-ROM drive in my Performa 630.

The Mac side would need a Mac person to chime in. Not sure how many are in this channel, heh. But according to their website, how ever you could make an image of the Mac drive, you drop it in this card and it will see it.

You could do it in WinUAE. Just set the correct device in HDToolBox and make sure WinUAE SCSI is set to your machine type.

Scsi2sd5 just put sd card and install AmigaOs with Hdtoolbox. Any other adapter needs too much work/prep. Iam using ith with A500 GVP II controller 8mb ram +GVP.device driver.

True by its design Zulu will always need you to create the image files elsewhere. But for folks already using emulators and real stuff, it’s super handy.

Great video. One question. WINUAE doesn't save Hard disk files in img format, or at least I can't see that it does. Did you just rename the HDF file?

Yes, sorry about that. WinUAE default is .hdf but you can rename to .img for use in other areas.

The reason is very simple... It's impossible to buy right-angle Molex power connectors in bulk these days. Molex discontinued them 5+ years ago.

Around 2.2mb a/s with GVP SCSI and the 25mhz 68030. I have a 40mhz 68040 I’ll be installing soon. In emulation (WinUAE) I was getting close to 8.8mb a/s.

This is pretty hard to watch with you filming the monitor. Some sort of capture would be great (you could emulate those portions and cut them in). Or, at least a tripod. Chasing the mouse around with your phone just isn't doing it ;-)

Interesting Video “Q” 👍🏻 But FAT32 has a 4GB limit. So how do you go about bigger SD cards? Or have I missed something? 🤔🫤 I run the SCSI2SD V6 and get around 8MB sec. Okay you have to use the front end software on a PC to setup the LUNs etc.. But I can use 64GB (59GB on SCsI2SD) and then use PFS3/FFS etc.. file systems. How fast does the ZuluSCSI run do you know?

You can format exFAT for larger disks. Also, Fat32’s partition limit is 32GB. Single file limit is 4GB. Zulu is around 3.3mb a/s. (actually just tested SysInfo and got 8mb a/s!) Plenty for regular Amiga work. Heck my a1200 does only 1.2mb a/s and it’s fine. :)

@@HoldandModify Dang! You are right about 4GB file limit. But please to read exFAT can be used. 3.3Mb though 👋🏻 So maybe on par or slightly better than a SCSI2SD V5. Maybe worth considering for those slower SCSI controllers. I’ll still stick to a SCSI2SD V6 for my Blizzard 603e plus card 😉👍🏻

@@KC9UDX Because Hyperion don’t own the rights to the PFS3 filesystem 😉 It’s the reason why FFS is still being developed and used on Amiga OS3.2.1 still 🤦🏻‍♂️The Whdload debarkle also sprang up with the makers of the A500 mini until they came to agreement with the developer. 👍🏻

@@KC9UDX What I love about this is that it IS all image files. I can put Amiga, Mac, Roland, other platforms all on one SD card. The host system will only boot from drives it recognizes. Plus being image files, you have a nice tidy, single, file back-up, to copy off and back, etc. You don't have to run in Admin Mode on Winuae and deal with hassles of getting "real" SCSI attached. I know it's not THAT big a hassle, but for some folks, they always want easier. I have been slamming this thing and it's been flawless too. Never would not know it's not just a SCSI drive sitting in there.

@@cullmaster7361 For Amiga 3000 and 2000 users, with normal SCSI controllers, you boot from INSTALL disk and use regualr HDTOOLBOX for this. I only had to do the GVP stuff as I was using a GVP SCSI card. This thing really is super easy to use. No hassles!
