Awesome video! Thanks for going over how to use the BlueSCSI v2 and glad it just works!

Nice. I just happen to have a new bluescsi and empty A590. No power supply though.
@RobSmithDev Жыл бұрын
Well you can do the ‘power from the Amiga’ mod, but also there are compatible ones available on ebay

Another great informative video! Today my seagate 50pin hdd died, think I'll get the bluescsi v2 too! I hope to see another part of this series! Forever Amiga :)

Is there a modern hard disk controller that could be used with the BlueSCSI? These days A590 and such are hard to come by. It would be great to have a modern HD on which to plug in the BlueSCSI... Or maybe there is a all in one solution out there somewhere...
@RobSmithDev9 ай бұрын
I don’t think there’s any need. There’s too many IDE, SD or compact flash alternatives - if I had t got the A590 I’d probably have bought one that plugs between the 68000 cpu and the socket.

Hi, I'm looking for scsi to sd for GVP A530. I see that this adapter has a different power socket
@RobSmithDev9 ай бұрын
There’s many adapter cables on Amazon, that’s where the one in the video I used came from

Welp, I'm using a 4GB SD card, exFat formatted, 512 byte allocation unit size. My hard drive file name is "HD10_512 - AmigaHardDisk.hda". That fie is a clone of the old 88MB Quantum hard drive that used to be in the computer. Unfortunately, when trying to use this new setup I just get a system request prompt that reads: "Not a DOS disk in device DH1" --and it won't boot. Bummer.
@RobSmithDev2 ай бұрын
Several reasons why it could happen - might not be the right kickstart version, might be missing (for example pfs3) driver. Try installing diskflashback and see if it can open the file
@patheightyeight13592 ай бұрын
@@RobSmithDev Whew. Good advice. It's a little bit deeper in the pool I usually swim, but I'll try to figure it out. I don't know what "diskflasback" is or how to use it, but I'll search for additional info. BTW, the drive file on the SD card/BlueSCSI is literally a direct clone of the physical hard drive that I just stopped using. I mean, I could put the physical hard drive back in the Amiga 2500 and it'll boot up fine. That would seem to inform me the kickstart ROM in my 2500 machine is an appropriate one, right? (I'm not a regular vintage Amiga user, just getting back into trying to save my old computer, so I'm ignorant about a lot of these things). Thanks for your videos and help!

Annnd - Not a DOS disk... I unable to manage to work BlueSCSI on any of my Amigas (A590, GVP HC+8, A3000) :(
@RobSmithDev8 ай бұрын
I have it working on my HC+8 fine. The size of the SD card you are using could be a factor. You may also need newer ROMs
@arti0408 ай бұрын
@@RobSmithDev I burned the latest ROMs. Also tried DOZEN of different cards. Could you share your file-parition?
@RobSmithDev8 ай бұрын
It’s too big to share. Does the hd tools even detect the blue scsi?
@arti0408 ай бұрын
@@RobSmithDev Nope. However, I manage to make it work on my A2000 with GVP HC+8 SCSI controller. A590 still does not even see the "drive".
@RobSmithDev8 ай бұрын
Weird. I can literally swap the SD card between my A590 and my GVP and it works in both. I think something might be wrong with your A590 setup. Have you checked the bluescsi site for some clues? What does the led on the bluescsi do on power up?
