I have a question ⁉️ Why not prolong the battery further by NOT even using deepSleep rather keep it off, and the ON button (and OFF buttons) would simply close the circuit to turn ON the ESP ? Meaning, instead of wasting that little mAh per day in deepSleep, why not keep it OFF anyway?

That's why I kept both the options I do even have a On-Off button on the board

Great use case and work. But don't your think its better to use a MOSFET or relay (probably it will look big in size for your use case) to Turn OFF the circuit completely? that will help you save the battery further. As i have a similar use case for my door sensor and with 18650 battery i am running my system from more then 3 years, without even a single recharge. And still 60% battery left! With esp8266 12E board. Removing the LED indicator will help you to bring power consumption further down.

why the reset button? of the purse you can use two tik switch that will power esp and set the logic state, just use two diodes, the switch power the esp and the diode sets the logic, so you have zero consumption in standby. Regards

Hey you can simply use the reset button and a toggle function in the code to perform all the essential activities. As adding two more buttons is quite clumsy thing you know. 😜

Fire hazzard, no flyback protection awful on relay portion. Sender portion exapmles: no encryption, and even if it was has no rolling code or scheme so is open to replay attacks. Cutting live wires. Which part of this video is good again?
@techiesms

I reviewed it and found that I haven't used a flyback diode, that's totally our mistake as it was made by one of our intern and he was also occupied with out Mumbai event. And talking about the encryption and attack then, here In my area, no one is using ESPnow and hence I kept it open. to make the code look simple as well

It is possible with only one button , let's say button is configured as soft latch to turn on keychain esp and send a request to the light board esp to get it's status and flip it's status and turn off itself keychain In this way battery was last longer and easier to navigate the keychain .

Hello Sir, I watch your every videos but I have some serious issues please read the whole paragraph then only you will get that what I exactly want to say. I wants to know which microcontrollers are used nowadays for Industrial and Domestic Automation (except PLC), such as microntrollers which are being used in Havells Smart Fan or Anchor IR remote Control Fan, or SYSKA Smart LED, etc all. All I wanted to know that these small smd based Smart Home Automation items by big brands uses which Microntroller for their smart products such as Fan, Bulb, Motor, Door Locks, etc. ??? Because as far as I have experienced AVR ATMega328P, PIC are not suitable for operating Inductive Loads (such as Fan or Solenoid Valve, Water Pumps , etc) as I have seen they produces back emf while on operation and the whole operation gets freezes down as a back emf creates disturbance for the microcontrollers and hence this way the whole code gets corrupted. I am seriously messed up with all these issues and till now I haven't found any relatable solution to this problem on the internet. I hope you have the answer to my question. I request you to please make a seperate video for me explaining all these Industrial Automation and Limitations of AVR, ATMega 328P, PIC, etc with troubleshooting of all these problems(especially on how to operate heavy Inductive loads on Arduino and how to troubleshoot back emf generated by motors). I have faced back emf issue on DC motors and Johnson Motors too, they were also not properly driven by Arduino and after 2nd or 3rd try they have also shown abnormal operation. I don't know why Arduino can't handle heavy current consuming DC motors with Motor Drivers or even AC motors on Relay. I faced the same issue on both !!! The whole circuit gets freezes down after 2nd or 3rd try and at last I get left with only 2 options, either re-upload the code or Restart the Arduino. Eagerly waiting for you response. Now you are the only last hope for me to get this sorted out. Please help me !!! 🙏🙏🙏
