Kindness is a core value. It is a type of magic. A few kind words, a bottle of water & a nut bar given to a homeless person, a lift to help a neighbour get to an appointment, can transform absolutely someone's day. It transforms my day too as I find doing some thing genuinely usefull for someone else brings me joy

thank you for these videos. I find them calming and the beauty you encounter on your journeys are breathtaking. I live in the US. and been to Scotland twice. I just returned from an international trip to Croatia. I always travel on a tour and usually by myself. Unfortunately many people on this tour made some rather rude and hurtful comments about me traveling alone. I was shocked! I have never experienced any thing like this in all my travels. You are so correct, it does cost nothing to be kind. Thank you. P.s. I love your nicknames for Carol! Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

It’s lovely that you bring her back in your thoughts. I read a fascinating book called ‘The Journey of Souls’ by Michael Newton. He researched people who recalled past lives. It all made a lot of sense to me and changed my whole outlook on why we are all here. Bottom line is life continues and we are all in a group of souls that have many lives together 👍
@jenpersoonАй бұрын
@@LifeistooshortCK Thank you for the book recommendation, we believe too, that we remain connected, always. We found that joy and sorrow are sisters, we experience extreme sorrow because we experienced extreme joy for having Rebecca in our lives. My brother, who is still with us, has a tagline as well: Just be kind, always. Your video poignantly reminded us that we are all called to be kind to one another, that it’s universal. Thank you for your lovely video and reply, it hit very very close to home.❤️

You are going to be fine Ken, you just need a few small alterations to your diet and to do a little research on what is good and what is bad, tbh most of the things you love will have a sugar free alternative but some that say low sugar can be deceptive and have high carbs which essentially will end up as sugar and spiking your levels. It's a learning curve but you will learn fast. Think of it this way, you may not be able to ingest a lot of sugar anymore but the sweetest thing in your life is Carol and she will help you through.

Hi Both, another relaxing video. Have just had a protein breakfast. I decided to join you. My mum had diabetes for 25 years and controlled it through diet for 15 of those, then took tablets for the remainder, didn’t want to take insulin. She passed away last year (unrelated to diabetes) so I thought I should start as I mean to go on. It will be very helpful to see what you make in your van when we catch up to post diagnosis as I feel sure it would help many people with their diets as we get older. Like a public service! Excellent! Was in that area in Mid August, when there was more rain than sun! However, we did pick a great day for our walk round Loch Trool (as seen on Ruth Aislings vlog) there's a couple of steep hilly bits but otherwise a wonderful walk, even if it was a bit longer than I envisaged. Only by a few miles and Mrs C is still speaking to me. Standing in the valley where Robert the Bruce and his men defeated the English, looking up from the path you can see it'd be a frightening thing. You'll have to go back and do the Raiders Road it's nicely gravelled and smooth. There's some great spots to stop along and take a break, we found it great along the Burn for watching Birds, never saw the Otters though. The Galloway Forest is a recognised as the International Dark Sky Park so Star Gazing there is a popular pursuit. That whole area certainly is stunning, I'm already planning a return journey!
