I agree with so many other people on here sharing their comments. I don't believe that Patrick is desperate for clicks and data to feed the algorithm, nor does he want to become a slave to KZbin to get a bit more pocket money by pushing the latest products out there and getting loads of freebies. He is a national treasure in my opinion and shares his experiences for us all to enjoy and learn from. KZbin needs to amend it's policy on how it pushes or promotes videos. I like the start at the pub, it seems to set the video up well, as soon as I saw that setting it got me in the spirit. The rustic cooking with a good glug of red wine reminded me that the simplest pleasures are often the best. Cheers!

Hi Andy nice to hear from you, when I see gales and rain forecast up your way I know you’ll be out in it. Had my Sooloo 10 years now so cost per year not bad and always feel so secure when out wild camping, this camp was so calm, not even a breeze, very strange but very relaxing. Given up trying to to understand KZbin algorithms, the comments and viewers are the important part, views and a few bob do help though……thanks Pat

Well Pat, That just made my day. I was painting my newly hung door with varnish as your video popped up on my feed and although I still needed to get my daily run done (run 38 today 😊) I knew I’d got my evening watch sorted, the perfect distraction from footy. So I started to play your video on my phone and my husband said, is that Patrick? Ha ha, yes over the cheering crowds you distracted him from the game. Now that’s a tall order 😝 It was beautiful up there when I last visited with friends and funnily enough I pitched the soulo to give her a good airing before my next trip out. A lovely cuppa and catch up with friends Paul and Sadie and few biscuits and chocolate Brazil nuts 😊 they love that little moorland spot just as much as me. I told them how you inspired me to wildcamp and make my own diary of memories. There’s nothing quite like it. All the best, an al see ya in a little bit 🌟

Hi Sarah. I dare say you will have plenty more doors to varnish, and don't think it stops there, we are still on with house and garden projects, 40 years on. So good to be back at this special place all looking good and well looked after, the weather though was totally different, dead calm, not a breath of air, and when the mist dropped it felt so quiet a totally different envioroment to the normal wind and rain. The log book is filling up, but will last a few months yet, perhaps people do not visit so much in the winter months, more guarentee that you get the place to yourself. See you on your next camp soon, wherever that may be......Pat

Hey Patrick. A quick tip for your meat. If you pre chop your meat, prior to cooking, add a teaspoon of bicarbonate and mix through. Leave and betime you cook, it should have tenderised. This is called velveting.

Hi Pat, outstanding as always. I thought you was going to neck that 2nd pint in one! Was up that way a couple of weeks ago on a round walk and stopped to admire the view. If you do fancy replacing the sleeping bag. I can vouch for the Alpkit Skyehigh 900. Superbly warm bag and a bit easier on the pocket than a Rab. Compacts well and not too heavy. Hi Dave , its a lovely spot Dave usually with great views over the city, especially at night, if you do go best place to park is Norfolk arms pub at Ringinglow, safe there and walk up around an hour easy stroll. I'm sure your new tent will be fine, at least not so heavy to carry, I just like to be bomb proof, were in there for a long time at this time of the year, but as I get older my pack feels so heavy for longer walks like Kinder and Bleaklow, there is'nt a straight answer reallly......all the best Pat

Hi Pat, we are probably of a similar age and your camps are basically similar to my own, comfort is key to success. I agree with your view of posting a video once or twice a month, quality over quantity is always best. Watch a lot of other KZbinrs camping and get fed up with click bait and the relentless reminders of a posting. Keep doing what you do. Cheers John

There are a good decent tents in Blacks at half that price so I think I will settle for those - I am renewing my gear after many years of neglect!

I’d rather watch a good wild camping video from you pat every 6 weeks. Than some of the stuff that’s on KZbin. All they seem to do is sell you stuff that been sent to them free. Love the shorts as well.
