Stapes is one of the very best poker commentators and quick wits I've ever heard, very talented guy. Always enjoy when he's here or on other shows. Pass that on to him for me, please. Whatever you're paying him, maybe "shove" a raise his way.

@Scott Shields I hear you, Scott. Norm and Lon are right up there in my book as well. They are great viewing with their fun and insightful commentary. I enjoy commentary that is knowledgeable and enjoyable while learning the game more and more. Respectfully, the overly analytical styles of others that I've seen are not fun to watch.

@meiermeier29

Recchimurzo and Freedman agreed to running it twice before revealing their cards. After seeing their cards, looks like it simply became a language problem. Recchimurzo taps the table and clearly says "impossibile" twice realizing he's drawing dead. It's Freedman who then confirms AGAIN to run it twice. No one actually objects to the second run until the dealer is about to flip it over. So what's the dealer supposed to do...?

@connman8d617
@connman8d617 5 жыл бұрын
And can we take a moment to discuss how badly he played that first hand? He calls a 3-bet with KQ off which is almost never going to be ahead, but he's got position so I guess we can let it slide. Next, he raises the c-bet on the flop. This is a horrible move because he's forcing hands that he beats (AK, QJ, TX, JJ, 99) to fold. I don't think J9 is good enough for Kassela to cold 3-bet an early position raise and KJ is easily dominated by the range of an EP raiser so that wouldn't be a great 3-bet candidate from the SB either (not to mention GI has KJ blocked). So, the only real draws that Kassela can have are the 4 combos of 89s. The rest of the time, this raise is only getting called by AA, KK, QQ, AQ, QT and TT which all crush KQ. The fact that Kassela calls the flop raise should be a dead giveaway to GI that his KQ is almost surely no good (Kassela has 36 combos of value vs. 4 draws). When checked to on the turn, the best play is for GI to check back. This is probably the worst card in the deck for him as he's now beaten by the only hands he was beating on the flop. He, instead, opts to bet. What happens next is unthinkable. Kassela goes for the check-raise and GI calls. I can't even understand his thought process here. I'm beaten by AA, KK, QQ, AQ, QT, TT and 89 (40 combos) and I'm only ahead of KJ and J9 which don't really make sense for my opponent to have. How can a high stakes player be this bad?

I like the show and I understand the editing process takes time and it’s a small budget but these sessions are at least over a year old. Doug Polk has basically not played publicly for the last 18 months. I know Joe and Chris fly to wherever the fuck it is and bang out god knows how many episodes at once but I think we need to catch up a little more it’s just seems dated.

Because it wasn't posted on youtube because it hadn't yet aired on television, because after you shoot something you have to download all the media, then upload all the media, then edit the content, and render it, then coordinate with the schedules of your talent to then film on-camera and voiceover segments, then re-edit everything into a version for television, which is scheduled to air on a specific date, and then two weeks after that airing, we post it on youtube. any other more busters, miss veronica vaughn?

When he played AA for instance, I don’t think he could possibly have played a more passive run. What does he think checking turn would accomplish? In fact, by the river he successfully managed to turn his monster hand into a bluff catcher, and based on the previous action was actually extremely lucky that Recchimurzo was bluffing with air and not value betting trip Qs, which would have caught up to him thanks to that turn check. And later on flatting QQ preflop was just bad. The hand pretty much played himself once he flopped that set, and even so, his bet sizing was terrible, especially the min raise on the flop. I never said that he’s a dummy, but he sure doesn’t know how to play poker.
