Test cricket known as 'pure' cricket is largely alive due to the this man. England may not be the number one team but he is the one who has brought excitement back to test cricket. He is the ultimate disruptor to test cricket and history will judge him kindly. Loads of people are around, who want him to fail just to prove his 'Bazball' wrong. Kudos also to the management of the ECB and in particular Robert Key for making the bold call.

This is the kind of nauseatingly sycophantic rhetoric that makes people root against 'Bazball'.

Great interview. Love the ride with McCullum so far, and its been good to see England start to assess situations better and use some lower gears this year. We could have something special developing beyond just feel good cricket.

McCullum as England coach still has to prove a lot His team lost poorly in India He has ashes in Australia which is probably the biggest assignment.

With the current squad of england and the way they have performed against SL don't see them even competing against Aussies.

I don't see England winning the Ashes in 2025/26....they do not have the bowling attack to compete on flat Australian decks....It will only be slightly better than the usual Ashes drubbing they face in Australia

The man behind changing test cricket, the fearless Baz GOAT .

Baz said it himself (albeit about Jimmy); sometimes it’s not what you say, but how you say it….obvious to me that he will quickly move Buttler on as captain.

In 2015 WC, Brendon scored 77 (25) against England. Back then, no one would have thought he would become their all-format coach one day.

Wins against 2nd class test nations, cuffed in India, didn't win the ashes at home pretty poor I would say. Give Andy flower the test coach job and try and do something in limited overs cricket with him, keep him employed 😅

It's easy to "entertain" if the result doesn't matter. Anybody could do that. History will mark him as mediocre unless results start to turn around in series that matter. Smashed in India, barely managed to hold on in the home Ashes. In 15 months, he will have his judgement test. And with this attitude that keeps results immaterial, it doesn't look hopeful.
