The way lily's mom told her "if Ryle really loves you he would never ask you to take him back in your life by himself." That is one of the most beautiful quote from a mother because sometime we think the person we love has gone away and not even he messages us or even try to ask for apology because he knows if he would do it will make us shatter into many pieces, he stays far from us for not to hurt us physically or mentally

These are my favourite lines..they just made a whole perspective shift for me. There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things. ”No one is exclusively bad, nor is anyone exclusively good. Some are just forced to work harder at suppressing the bad.

the fact that Ryle was abusing Lily just because of her past was so wrong, he read through all of her personal letters and imagined that she still in contact with him but in actual she met Atlas after so much happened between Ryle and Lily .

The main theme that I picked up from this book is that .... One should accept the apology for not more than two times because then it becomes a valueless trend

Colleen Hoover usually writes very intimate stories, but I am turning 19, not that I like intimacy in books because it's not something that excites me at all, the kind of romance I like is more soulful which is highly available in urdu literature✨ Secondly Colleen Hoover is someone I am a huge fan of! 🌺 I read Maybe someday which again had intimacy, but every word was poured with emotion and I could feel every emotion that Ridge, the female protagonist and Ridge's girlfriend felt! It had it's own intricacies but I could feel it with so much clarity! I love Colleen, unlike other English writers, emotions doesn't get lost in her romances! Big fan of her! 🌺🌺🌺🕊️

It ends with us is one of the greatest book of our era but the whole story is so emotional and it also overwhelms you. I think it starts with us is a treat for readers who have read it ends with us. It is much lighter but also covering some child custody issues between lily and Ryle which is very important part. But lily and atlas getting together is the happiest ending lily deserves.

I am sorry but i cant bring myself to stop thinking about how sometimes lily should have been more honest and open with ryle, how she hid stuff about atlas and about her journals, the phone number atlas left while he was there to meet her at ther shop right after atlas and ryle got into a fight, these are important things that i honestly think you should not hide from your significant other. ofcourse they are problematic things and i felt like ryle deserved to know from lily and not on his own. I still cant bring myself to really like lily but its also not like all she went through was deserve, not even ryle deserved to be unaware of the truths. i felt so confused, frustrated and angry while i was reading the book and i dont know how to feel about it anymore. I can not fully allow myself to support lily as she believes she never did anything wrong, but did she really not do anything wrong? even if she did do something wrong she didn't deserve to be hurt the way she did, but also ryle didn't deserve to be uncoverd and unknown of the truth but what he did was also something that can not be justified and forgiven. this book has got me so confused i cant even side with anyone.

I think so past doesn’t matter when you move forward. If you’re a mature person and you love the person you’re with then you should accept their past and that doesn’t justify them to do worst in the name of love. Lilly had a complicated childhood and Atlas was an escape for her and he was someone who saved her. Ryle was unjustified because he knew Lilly’s past and he knew who Atlas was to Lilly. Lilly choose Ryle and she was with him and married him. So, he was a priority in her life and a person who’s as educated as Ryle and who has gone through his own Trauma. If that person claims love then he should have been able to accept her completely.

@@samlimitless1739 who said the past doesn't matter?? i mean ofcourse you should leave your past and move forward with your life for a bright future ahead but that doesn't mean you shouldn't let your partner be aware of the past you had and the fact that Lily still had feelings for Atlas and wasn't telling about it to Ryle HIDING infact from Ryle is toxic too(change my mind if you can🤷🏻‍♀️)ofc im not saying what Ryel did was completely right but every defending Lily is just to sad to see that people would still support the female even if she was in the wrong too...

Just finished reading. It was a good read on many levels. The quote you mentioned was in this. It was towards the end. I always felt Ryle will be the abuser. He was a good man but a weak one from the start. Atlas on the other hand was a strong character. Zindagi Ki bhati mein Pak ker jo banta hai wohi sona banta hai. Lily's kind gesture came back to her at the end. One might face many struggles in life but your little good deeds come back saving you from its intensity. Waiting for another re view or recommendation.

I have just finished reading "it ends with us" and now started "It starts with us." I somehow found it relatable tho.like seeing domestic abuse and then lily being stucked in a love triangle.the best part of the book other than the story was how she introduced all the main character in the story for examlpe atlas like instead of writing a whole chapter before starting the story of ryle and lily or introducing him and his story in her next book and wrote it in the form of diary. After that there is for sure some adult content but with a message like people are addicted to Wattpad content which is much more.here she is not glorifying marital rapes or domestic abuse. I loved the part where lily stood for her mother. she said no to giving chances again and again and set boundaries .in asian countries women have normalized comprising even if they are beaten everday. She chose to be single and independent .she tried her best not to be hard on herself or be like her mother and broke the generational trauma which she faced as a child just because of her parents and the best part when she gave birth to Emmy and her first few words were its ends with us emmy. i haven't finished reading but she took a step for her happiness her first love and decided to be happy to give love another chance and to stay with a man who knows her worth!✨

Hi Rabia. happy new year. U are always a delight to watch. A liberal, liberated, tolerant and secular person. Can I ask for something- can u mention about some articles/ books confused men in their late 20s should read to make up their mind for marriage? I am skeptical, genuinely confused- I am afraid that my marriage can break. Not able to identify the reason in particular- maybe the experience of my parents' marriage is not great, friends' marriage breaking, most importantly, finances.. Grateful to bhagwan for my career so far, but I believe I would grow a lot more, Inshallah. Problem here is it is difficult to survive if only the husband is earning. And I can't just hunt for working women. What if my wife has a lot of expectations from me and I am incapable of fulfilling those, toh toot hi jaega na shaadi... I am really confused. I want to be a good husband, but I know I will fail miserably. I have completed my education from the premier institutes of India. Am Happy, but these thoughts only stop me to get married
