The song is about Albert Severin Roche a French soldier who was initially rejected due to his short stature at only 5' 2" but was eventually assigned to the 27th Battalion of Chasseurs Alpins also known as the blue devils, one of his first heroic acts was volunteering to assault a German blockhouse by himself, another was holding a trench line in sudel singlehandedly after artillery wiped out his unit, he escaped capture and brought back 42 prisoners while carrying a wounded lieutenant and for his greatest achievement, during the Second Battle of the Aisne he crawled for over 10 hours under enemy fire to save his captain but despite this since he had collapsed from exhaustion following this, he was accused of abandoning his post by sleeping on duty, but lucky for him the captain had woken up and he was saved just seconds before he was to be executed by firing squad and despite all this he was never promoted beyond Second class but was given one of the highest honors a soldier could recieve, he was one of the seven men to be the pallbearers to bring the unknown soldier to his final resting place beneath the Arc De Triomphe

Great reaction!🤘 I was a history buff before I became a Sabaton fan. I was also a metal fan and discovering Sabaton was the perfect match!😃 Did you know that Tommy Johansson is one of the songwriters for this song?😉 Right now I'm preparing myself for the Sabaton Cruise (Stockholm-Tallinn) in just a couple of weeks🎉🤩🤘 2 Sabaton concerts and 4-5 other bands!! I'm also bringing my family. I'm so addicted to this band that I need at least one concert/year😅 (Sweden Rock Festival in 2025.... )
