As a southerner I've felt heartfelt sympathy for the industrial towns of the mid and north lands for many years. As a country we've abandoned these people. I'd like to see that put right.

I'm a born southerner, yet i guess now i'm a northerner having spent the last 2/3s of my life up here. One thing i've noticed every time i go down south to see family for Christmas or something, is down south it feels like a frog in boiling water, an oblivious acceptance that the state of this country is normal and acceptable not knowing anything else. Up north there is far more of a sense of community, that's treated by the government as less and uncivilized, yet in truth this is how a nation should be run, where you look after each other. I don't think most southerners really understand the level of damage this globalization mentality creates, since that rat race mentality is all they've ever known. I think Reform will put it right.

Reform UK: Where do I start? Reform have a Muslim chairman main donor, a main donor isn’t giving money to political parties because they’re just extremely generous people - they want political influence ie certain laws voting on in parliament. Farage quotes - Journalist: Do you care if indigenous people become the minority in the UK? Steel is a strategic industry for any country, and the UK imported 60% of its steel needs in 2023. That adds to the UK's overall trade deficit. Why should it be cheaper to import steel and transport it from anywhere else in the world rather than making it within the UK for domestic needs is down to overbearing government controls and policies. The same could be said for other sectors of UK industry.

As a Scunny lad, now living in North Yorkshire it's been sad to see the decline of the steel works over my lifetime. For as long as I've been alive successive governments both red and blue have driven our industries and industrial towns into the ground and artificially pumped GDP up with a financial sector that serves no one but the elites. Take London out of the equation and we're one of the worst performing developed nations and on track to be a 3rd world economy. It's easy to forget that we started the industrial revolution and laid the foundations for modern living.

It is a political decision to keep a steel industry active in a country. For many, it is of national interest to retain a steel industry. The UK politicians have decided to abandon steel making and across the country steel manufacturing plants are dying. Scunthorpe will need to reinvent itself, with the way things are going. To some extent, they have done that by becoming a specialist steel manufacturer, but without general government support for the industry, it will die. From the video, many of the folk have given up. The old Tory and Labour parties need ditching and Reform should be given a chance. What is there to lose? The farmer's wife (if anyone is frowning at that, then get over it) should examine Reform's idea on Inheritance Tax. Other political parties have discriminatory policies in that regard, which need changing. AND I'm talking about wives, not just farmers. Best check out what Reform wants to do with inheritance tax and in particular what happens to a wife who is not British, when her British husband dies.

It is a side show. The Mayor of Scunthorpe will show us nothing we don't already know. The guy who expressed absolutely no interest in politics is the mean position. The population has made it clear for nearly 20 years that it does not want the government to keep bringing in people, particularly Muslims. There is a deep lived experience that they make ghettos and the existing dwellers of those areas all but forced out of those districts. Why take notice of a system which does not even follow its promises? Look at this Labour govt what they have done is entirely asymmetric when judged against their promises. They are all liars.

It's the same story nation wide. Everywhere you go, there's nothing but boarded up shops. Then Labour say that they are a party that represents economic growth? Show me one part of the country that is better off with Labour in power. Give it 10 years of Labour, and most of us will be surviving on Universal Credit. Then the system will go pop.

It’s been 6 months mate you can’t undo 14 years of major economic destruction that the Troy’s have done to the uk in 6 months and policies take awhile to show their economic impact. What you are saying is you just hate labour and have no real reason at all for why you do
@cadderley100

@@Darthdog4957 Here we go, blame the Torys... That's all your lot ever say. I am sick of hearing it. I support Reform, do you also think that I am a right wing extremist, because I support a party other than Labour? Labour are going to do more damage to this countries economy in four years, than the Torys could ever do in 15 years. Go to Trading Economics and look at the economic indicators. Go to the ONS and look at the damage Labour have already done to employment, with their National Insurance hikes. Well, I suppose someone has to keep the Immigrants on Universal Credit somehow, Labour are just doing it at a cost to employers. Labour have already caused more unemployment in the last 6 months than at any time in the last 4 years under Tory's. That's a fact. Labour have bought us definingly close to a recession, having two straight months of economic decline. Labour are borrowing money from the IMF like it's monopoly money. Under Labour, GDP growth has been downgraded from 0.4% to 0.1%. 0.1% economic GDP growth... That's depressing. Under Labour, we have successfully lost 0.3% growth rate, in 6 months. We have people who shouldn't be in the job, lying on their CV's and being rewarded for it, Hello Rachel "From Accounts". Speaking of, Rachel loves to point the finger at the Tory's, but she won't reveal her own tax records, will she? I wonder why? Starmer won't consent to a national investigation into grooming gangs, thinking that he is above the law, even though he expects everyone else to be law abiding. This Labour Government condemn pensioners to freeze to death in winter, while claiming expenses for their own heating. Starmer is letting Illegal Immigrants in by the boat load, putting the safety of the nation at risk every time he does. He is trying to decriminalise an entire criminal enterprise, by calling Illegal Immigrants irregular immigrants instead. Labour are full of nothing but liars, thieves and hypocrites. Don't tell me why I hate Labour and what my reasons are. That's got nothing to do with you, and I don't have to justify myself to the "Blame Tory's" brainwashed masses, who just sit there chanting "Blame Tory's". I've seen people arrested, in the street, by the met police, for silently praying to themselves, which Christians are allowed to do, and the met police, under Starmer, try to classify it as a hate crime. I've seen 4 video's of that up to now. Even if I didn't hate Labour, I would hate Starmer. I have done since he dropped to his knee during the BLM protests. I also hated him for arresting people, and sending them to prison, for nothing more than protesting. The man is a communist tyrant. You want to talk about hating people with no real reason, your the one jumping on the Labour bandwagon, chanting "Blame Tory's" and you don't even know why your blaming the Tory's. Your just chanting the same mantra now, that you've been chanting for the last 12 months, "Blame Tory's, Blame Tory's, Blame Tory's". Your part of the brainwashed masses. Do you think that everyone on here, speaking out against Labour is also a right wing extremist? As far as I am concerned, you can shove the "Blame Tory's" crap where the sun doesn't shine, because I know exactly why I hate Labour. Then there's the £35M on a water feature... £35M. How exactly is that supposed to help the local economy to grow? A water feature, costing the tax payer £35M?

Hang on a minute, didn’t the Brexit party (mostly made up of reform members) convince people to vote for Brexit, in Grimsby (a neighbouring town)? Telling people in Grimsby, that, after Brexit, they would be living in the land of milk and honey, when they took back control of British waters. I feel like people in this town should really be looking at what they would be voting for, if they voted for reform.

The reason the EU was created was to make an economic area/partnership to help stop more wars taking place in Europe. Just in time manufacturing was amazing for our joined countries, regulatory alignment is fantastic and just pure common sense. The list goes on and on when it comes to being close or better still a part of the European Union. Also, don't forget, as a member state we still had trade deals with all these other countries, and with way more clout behind us as a bloc of 450 million, rather than just 67 million.

Why didn't the American Union prevent their civil war? I can think of one reason in which it helped to cause it.
