Are you still together ? My husband and I have been together since Nov 18 1989. We have raised three adopted sons and owned many homes together. Now we are grandparents to two little boys. It does work out with a lot of work and does just better and better. Take good care of each other. Peace!

Okay, this is three years after you made the video so I'm a little late with the "comment" section. After three years your message still resonates. Because of the coming out process, (unlike you), many gay kids are 3-5 years behind their straight friends in relationships. One has to accept & love themselves first before a relationship is likely to work. Anyway, I laughed when you said you'd been together 5 months. My husband and I made the same comment after 5 months.... and now that laugh was 49 years ago & we're still strong & together. We wish you a similar life of happiness.

It does get better , My other half and I do mean half passed Dec. 6th in my arms after being together for 53 yrs , I haven't been able to get over the hump and know now It's just not going to happen , he's with me every minute of the day and it won't be long before we are truly together . Wow, Michael, What an emotional transformation from your coming out video from 5 years ago. I kept feeling a weight of sadness and even cried myself ,but now I was grinning as you spoke of surprising Logan after work by asking him to go to prom with you. I was moved to tears of joy when you put your arm around Logan !! 🕺🕺❤💙🙏🎶 I do have two questions , but I have doubts that you will see them after 5 years?? You probably have moved on and think of your video as your past . My question is : Did you slow dance together at prom and was that also something your peers accepted? I know a few gay couples who attend dances regularly with me, but I have never seen them slow dance together and I have never been in a relationship with a guy where I could have slow danced and would love to experience that once before I leave this body I love to dance.

I'll bet that when your mom's friends didn't have a hard time w it, she saw that she didn't have to either. As well, with you being adamant about your sexuality, she had to have realized that she could lose her son. Be glad that she decided she didn't have to. I remember that when I was a high school student, I was such a coward to come out to my friends because I was too afraid of that they rejected me. I acted like heterosexual. But after high school graduation in 1986, I decided to come out as gay to everyone. Good news! I was glad that my friends and family accepted me that who I am. I used to date girls but I didn’t feel for them at all. I attracted to boys since I was 12 years old. Unfortunately, in the past most schools were bullying gay students in 1980’s and 1990’s.
