Danny has been in the army for 4 years, yet all he thinks about is Brooklyn and how great it is. When he returns after the war, he soon finds that Brooklyn is not so nice after all. He is able to share a place with Nick, the janitor of his old High School, and get a job as a singer in a music store. He also meets Leo, a talented pianist and his teacher Anne, whose dream is to singing Opera. When Jamie arrives from England, Danny tries to show him the Brooklyn experience and help him compose modern swing music. Together, these four also try to help Leo get the Brooklyn Music scholarship.

What a shocker! 🤩 Today marks 74 years since this movie premiered. And the talented little boy who appeared in the gym scene disappeared a few months after the premiere. It Happened in Brooklyn may have been flop but the great amount of talent that shined in this movie was exceptional. As for the little boy, Bobby Long, he was the one who stood out the most 2 me. He was quite a prodigy and definitely had Star potential. He would 85 if he were alive today. Happy Anniversary 2 It Happened in Brooklyn (IHIB 4 short). And especially 2 young Bobby Long. His memory will never be forgotten 2 me 💖👼💖

Why does the sound disappear completely when Grayson starts singing - and is lost for the rest of the trailer?

I can answer that* Because she was singing a song from the opera, Lakme* It's copyright so it's considered illegal 2 play it in a movie trailer. So that's why. Natch*

@@gabrielvidrio3210 - I don't think that's quite right. French copyright for protection of musical compositions (including operas) is 70 years beyond the death of the composer. Delibes died in 1891 - 130 years ago, which puts the end of protection - at least by law - at 1961. Something doesn't smell right.
