It Happened! Elon Musk Revealed Crazy Concept Battery LTO, That Break All Industry!
========
Their final product is a new battery with a life cycle of up to 30,000 cycles equivalent to 82 years and optimize the charging time 10 minutes.
So what type of battery is being mentioned? How does it play an inevitable role in the transformation of this industry?
But before we begin, make sure you subscribe if you haven’t already and ring the bell so you’ll never miss out on future updates from Tesla Car World. Now that we’ve taken care of all that, let’s get started on today’s episode!
Lithium titanate battery (LTO)- the chemical formula is Li2TiO3 and the anode material is lithium titanate. It is a rechargeable battery that has the advantage of charging faster and longer life cycle than other lithium-ion batteries.
The first question is, what are the pricing advantages of LTO batteries?
To highlight the price advantages, making comparisons between the same voltage of 40 Ah 3.2V the price of LTO battery is 38.70 USD which is nearly 10.00 USD cheaper when compared to the price of 48.58 USD lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. In addition, you will save 13.95 USD by purchasing an electric car by using an LTO battery instead of a car using a lithium-ion battery for 52.65 USD. To be honest, the price of electric vehicles will be influenced by reducing battery prices. Therefore, when a product is powered by any type of battery, the price of that battery determines the price of the product.
So, what stands out about the life cycle of LTO batteries?

LTO cells are good in the buses as they can be charged quickly when picking up people at the bus stop every few miles. I do use the 30AH * 2.3v cells for solar storage at home as I wanted a safe battery. I ordered direct from China to Uk which took about 12 weeks to be delivered. Worked out a lot cheaper than buying them in the Uk. I got 48 in total, each one holding up to 69watts, very heavy so no good for cars. I ordered in 3 batches when we had Brexit and customs rules and fees had been relaxed so I did not have to pay any taxes or import duties. 2 of the cells have leaked.

because it is 1) very heavy. 2) LTO has upper & lower voltages of 2.9 V & 1.5 V , needing separate cut off systems to protect over charge / over discharge & also fully utilise its capacity. you simply can't replace a 72 volt Li ion / Lead Acid system with a 72 V LTO system.

This has the potential to make cross country trips in an EV!!! You can charge it in the same time frame as filling a gasoline tank on your car. It also makes a solar powered home more affordable without having to replace batteries every 5-7 years and eliminates the inherent fire risk associated with Li batteries. Their ability to dump large quantities of energy quickly also makes it possible to use in a shop where machinery like welders are used. The biggest challenge will be finding solar panels that will produce more efficient electricity per square meter of surface to keep the batteries recharged without requiring a large field of panels to do so!!

Toshiba has been making LTO batteries for over 30 years. I bought 40 batteries out of 1991 Honda Fits that were still holding a minimum of 97% of original charge. I am using them on my off-grid farm in North Idaho. I had to build a new system after my previous system using LIPO caught fire from charging them at -29C that was too cold to be charging them. I have charged my LTO battery bank as low as - 52C without any problems. In the winter months my battery bank stays fully charged due to the high C rate.

😊 yeah the New York times has the most recent publication to turn over its editorial column to the aerospace engineers that created the company for several years now helping Toshiba with toshiba's provide their selves specifically to micromobility including electric bicycles and especially UNICYCLES. AFTER MANY MIDDLEMAN AND MARCUS IT'S JUST THREE FIGURES EXTRA OP THE BIKES THAT ARE OFTEN OVER$10,000. SCHWINN UNDERSTOOD THE VALUE OF A SMALL ELECTRIC BATTERY FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T PEDDLE UPHILL WHICH IS BASICALLY EVERYBODY IN PLACES LIKE SAN FRANCISCO IF YOU WANT TO GO FASTER THAN WALKING SPEED. But is this video Mansions once the audience which was my bike buyers saw the battery cell it was pulled from the micro mobility market and all but Japan. So imagine our fellow mammals flying small or not bats. To the car industry they can be vampires indeed. The Google AI system provides a link p to the website of Mazda to prove that it is using the Toshiba Titan aid batteries for the Mazda SUV in the United Kingdom & Bard also says that although it's not produced by Toshiba several German e-bike makers since 2020 have used LTo. Like the maker of this video Google is delusional however. Don't believe something is true just because they give you a website they provided a website because people provide websites when they're trying to prove something and has nothing to do with whether what you're trying to prove exists. It is possible because it is the way it should be. I don't know about the figures at the beginning of this video they seem completely based upon actual cost of holding overtime. Titanium is not cheap and its price as little to do with nanocrystals of its oxide it's your mainly a similar-sounding name. The specifications that I provide in this video are not for Toshiba not for its past. Toshiba's excellence requires a company like zapbatt. Please support.

Building a battery to age inside a car, or a car that ages around a battery is a stupid idea in the first place, the future is swapping! Whether that be swapping the whole battery, or electrodes is up to debate. This has a whole plethora of advantages, such as making it independent of the car value, safety in case of fires is better when you can isolate the battery, being able to store energy from green sources, zero charging time for the end user, lower vehicle weight if you can choose a light battery for daily grocery hauling, and a heavier one only when longer rides are required. High speed charging also puts massive load on the electrical net, it just does not make sense to do that for a large amount of vehicles...period....

As far as electric cars are concerned, they have serious problems in the middle of winter in say Michigan. That problem will end up not being a problem. I've never had a lithium-ion battery explode orgo into thermal runaway, but I know people this has happened to. The combined mass of the anode and cathode determines the weight of the brine battery. One liter of salt water, for instance, has an anode and cathode combined mass of 1,241 kg, giving it a theoretical energy density of 368 Wh kg-1. Theoretically, a battery with 6 M seawater would have an energy density of 423 Wh kg.

LTO batteries are not being made or used by Tesla and in fact Tesla has been championing LFP or Lithium Iron Phosphate as its next gen battery. Also, you might note that the market for Titanium is dominated by our China. Overall, this does not seem a win and either sodium or Iron Phosphate would be more advantageous chemistries from a supply flexibility perspective.

This is very misleading. This cells are nowhere close to suitable for a battery electric vehicle, and it's a double-jointed stretch to say Elon much "revealed" them. Use them in colder areas where you have plenty of space for the batteries, but don't try them in anything that will travel any distance, much less has wheels. The energy density comparison to LFP was fussy math at best. LTO takes up way more space and will end up weighing much more than LFP for any given storage capacity.

Ok so the price of titanium has been low recently but the qhole idea seems fishy bexause Russia is the world leader in titanium exports because all of that particular mineral and in the sixties when Lockheed Skunk works was trying to build the SR-71 the CIA had to buy the needed amount thru an absolutely ridiculous amount of shell companies and we are not exactly best buds with the Kremlin at this time so unless another huge source of titanium has been found that i havent heard of ..well good luck on any type of low price

@@TeslaCarWorld Overall cycle efficiency is NOT 95%, it is ~75%. LTO is wonderful for cycle life and C rate. LTO's actual efficiency varies with C rate. ~85% charge at low C rate and ~95% discharge(low C rate, if high C rate lower than 90% and 75% charge eff if HIGH C rate charge as well) for overall efficiency of around 70% with a maximum around 80%. Everyone who has tested them has shown this to be true. Suggest you research better, this video is pitiful.

@@w8stral you don't even listen ! 75 % is the cycle efficiency at low temperatures ( i.e. -30 °C). new LTO , at normal temperature has more than 98 % cycle efficiency. Lead acid has a cycle efficiency of 50 % only. edit : it has a power density of 76 Wh /kg BUT can be charged at 2C ( i.e. 30 min ) & still give 20,000 cycles. 10 C is for very short durations & the producers Yinlong & Toshiba claim 20,000 cycles ( not 30,000 cycles ). but 20,000 is 50+ years if charged once daily. LTO batteries are not suitable for EV applications due to: 1st. More expensive compared to traditional Li-ion. Titanium is replacing the carbon and not the lithium as mentioned in the video. 2nd, the energy density is almost half traditional cells which means you will get half range car for the same battery weight.

skeletons superbattery have very low energy density. 600Miles range is valid only for US, Canada, in Europe we will have less than 100 miles to the charging point and being able to charge it in 20minutes is an advantage over 20hours for the rest. LTO - safe, not flamable, wider operating temperatures, higher peek power, faster charging. I do not wont to be stuck in a flamable car in case of an accident.

Lithium batteries have no future and Musk should switch to sodium like the Chinese. As the number of Lithium battery-based fires in cars, scooters, and e-bikes increase and burn down more buildings their use will be banned especially as it takes 30,000 gallons of water to put out a lithium-based car fire. Battery life is not the criteria it is corrosion and physical damage to the battery pack that matters along with overcharging older batteries. Toyota is right in promoting hydrogen for many reasons not least the number of chargers needed if the car fleet switches to EVs and the impossibility of charging them all from solar and wind power. The EU has already changed its laws to allow the continued production and use of fossil-fuelled vehicles provided the fuel is from eco sources whatever that may mean. In addition, economic favors hydrogen since all that needs changing on hydrogen cars is the top half of the engine to allow for the change in fuel. This has already been done by JCB for their industrial units and they will manufacture such engines this year.
