Fantastic video! I just followed you here from Facebook, where you mentioned a photo you’re trying to identify. At the end, you talked about the flying saucer, and I posted a question about it there. I’ve also followed you on Facebook. Thank you so much for your content-it’s absolutely fascinating!

My dad was in the band at the Elmwood. He also played in the Bob Lo boat band for a few years.

I worked at N & D, and I recognized the last photo you showed in the video the Yorktown sign I was a bag boy, and Steve Budimir-the one who used to give out candy to the kids-was my neighbor. I even used to cut his grass! I always looked forward to taking out groceries for customers, hoping to get a $0.10 tip. And if I got $0.25? That was like hitting the jackpot!

Wow, this was great. This was my era. I probably wouldn't recognize anything in downtown Windsor anymore. I know everything changes, but this time was very special well at least to me. Thanks Michael ❤

Great video. Brought back many great memories of my "miscreant" youth. 73 now. Did not think I would have made it this long.

I noticed that the by-line of the first newspaper article you showed concerning "Bessie" was that of Paul Vasey, journalist and novelist who later hosted the local CBC radio morning show, 1980s-90s. Enjoyed the video!

Yes, he was. I gave him a credit for use of the sentence "meandered along Gilles."

I remember growing up on the west side of Detroit and taking a city bus with bunch of buddies to Windsor going through the tunnel and renting the ice at Windsor arena for $25 an hour to play some pick up hockey back in the early 70’s.

Aw man I'm so glad you went back to the ship. I was so curious who she was lol This city makes me mad. Whole place looks like it popped up in 1967.

I noticed the ship in the old film before I had the photo. After seeing the photo, it felt like a gift!

Does anyone have an photos or videos whatsoever of that big brown building on the corner of Lesperance & Tecumseh, which was replaced by a Winks around 1989? That one keeps eluding me.
