What an interesting event from the past. Windsor and Detroit have played a lot of roles Past Present and hopefully Future. President Teddy Roosevelt was a character larger than life and he certainly stands out and is well remembered. They say a good life will always be remembered as long as people are saying and remembering your name. Thus the saying remember my name. Michael ❤ Thank you for presenting this tid bit of History. It was quite enjoyable.

"Up the river to Port Huron." In the upbound direction, 'the river' stops being a river at Peche Island at the southern end of lake St .Clair. After crossing lake St. Clair there is also the entire length of the St. Clair river that needs to be traversed before reaching lake Huron and the city of Port Huron.

What's the Windsor connection to Teddy other than being on the American side of the Detroit River? Were there Canadian dignitaries on the Tashmoo too? Did he visit Windsor and meet with any here? Why was the Tashmoo in Amherstburg?

There is not much of a Windsor connection. (It Happened on the Detroit River) The Tashmoo was coming back from a trip, hit a rock and went ashore to nearby Amherstburg, and sank.
