Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I had a (step) grandpa Jim. He owned a hardware store in Springfield MN for many years and spend the last 15+ years of his life up north near Walker, MN taking care of my grandma (and ignoring his own cancer symptoms until it was too late, but I digress). He was one of the best men I ever will have the privilege of knowing and you Jim reminds me of him in so many ways. Props to Jim and you for knowing him. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy. Prayers that harvest is great for you.

As I watch this video with all hands on deck for the start of the harvest season it just seems to me that, at least for awhile, before the kids get older and all of the teenage “angst” sets in, you couldn’t find a better way to be a family and raise your kids if you tried. Being city born and bred I’m not sure those guys will ever realize how good they have it. Good job Mr. & Mrs. MF’rs.

Absolutely awesome that you spent the day with your daughters. They'll definitely remember it fondly as they grow up. I highly doubt it's the first time or that it'll be the last one. My youngest daughter loved when I take her on my Harley to collect cash on my arcade and pinball games route when she was 11. Everyone at my stops spoiled the dickens outta her. By the time we'd get home she wasn't interested in dinner or any more candy. One day we got caught by a rain shower on Old Cutler Road which is one of the most scenic ones here in Miami-Dade County and I was absolutely soukedngi when we got to my house and so was she. I made her shower and put her pajamas on and she asked if we could go for another ride. Absolutely not I replied. Fun times she still remembers in her 40's.

We just got a 2018 240 air flex this harvest, it’s been the nicest cutting head we’ve had for beans, but there’s a few things we’ve run into I thought might be helpful to know, the sickles are apparently known to be replaced yearly due to the fact they’re just a softer sickle for all that flex, we just replaced ours in the middle of beans cause we snapped one after the other, the repair kits will get you by but aren’t ideal, a few other things have been replaced due to them updating different parts in the knife drive system. Parts have also been a headache to get for us in North Dakota, we’re ending up buying spares of everything cause it’s usually a 1 or 2 day wait. Hopefully you have better luck with it being a new head, have a safe harvest guys!
