A CARRIAGE BOLT for the Door! They are Flat Headed and you can get them at Home Depot. Spray them black to match your door hardware and install one on each side of the hole. It would look like it was part of the door hardware.

As a greenhouse grower, let me say that you may make greenhouse benches by using 2x4 inch metal fencing attached to painted 2x4 wood frames. Generally we use 4x8 benches with 2 center supports. Attach wire top with small fence staples. Place these on top of cinder block legs.

I agree with Brett or Brent, no big deal on the tiny, drilled hole. The plugs will fix it and it will not be noticeable because the door handle covers it. The houses are shaping up...awesome stuff! I LOVE seeing the house. I just can not get enough of all the progress on the house, land, planting, and the animals. I could watch the work at the 40 all day and night. I just need more flowers, sunrises,sunsets, blue skies, and smiles in my life. I love to see projects and the positive results when they are progressing. The cog hill provides all of this for me. I have to say, the thing I love most about this community, is that everyone is so happy to offer up ideas and solutions when you ask folks for a resolution to something that may present itself! Idea for the door hole... (Im sure it would work for fiberglass to).. Elmer's Wood putty.. Stainable or Paintable(small square container ) .pack the hole all the way through, dry, stain

Jason and Brooke, your taste in everything is spot on. You should be featured in Home Beautiful. You both are very creative and know how to put things together to complement each other. I love the house, your mom's house (love the crown Moulding), the garden, the new pad for MooMan, and the goats. Everything, with a HUGE effort on ya'll's part, the place is looking FANTASTIC. I'm 80 years old, birthday May 31 will be 81, I want to be around when the place, especially the pond, is full of geese and duck. It will be so beautiful. I watch you every day almost. You bring a smile and even a laugh sometimes to this old lady. Your flowers are beautiful. I'll be happy when the PPP is finished and I'm sure Mary Carl will be happy too. To see the birds outside in their PPP will be awesome. I love fowl of any kind. A tiny dowel shoved into that hole and sanded and stained, no one will ever know it was there. Love the three of ya. I didn't know anything about how pole barns are really built, and what a barn-based house would entail. If I ever build again (we've built a couple of cabins), that's my method. It seems much more economical and efficient as a building method, lighter footprint on the planet as well. And I love the openness and flexibility of the interior. It's so much fun to watch these folks succeed.

Jason, you are already WAY ahead of where most new home builders are and if that teeny tiny hole is your only mistake in the process, bottle it and sell it as a "miracle" elixir, because that's what'll look like.
