He straight up uses "Aishiteru" which is almost exclusively used for romantic love or when you say something like "I love my parents". "Ai" is used for profound love. Also every translation I could find in languages that have both a romantic tone and regular tone they all used the romantic translation for Bachira's words (which was the correct choice).

Were are you getting it didn't do well in theatres? Quick google says $14m, wouldn't have cost even $4m to make so a lazy additional $10m profits before it then hits the streaming services to earn the standard income that more episodes would make. Sounds like this could only have added to the profits this show is making and not detracted in any way. If the show didn't have enough time to make the episodes then this is poor planning and budgeting, if it was underfunded then it's poor budgeting. If the studio knows it needs 10x people for 1 year but only has 8 and doesn't request more time or hire more staff then the studio is insisting on a crunch strategy and treating employees shit

I’m sorry to break it to you buddy but, the producers literally cut out some of the animations and replaced them for PNG‘s because they didn’t give the animators enough time to fully finished the cuts they were supposed to work on. I mean they started working on season 2 only some months before airing. I still pray the U20 will be peak despite this 🙏
