The Nationals have been pushing for divestiture powers for our major supermarkets and calling on the Government to enforce the Grocery Code of Conduct for a while now. As usual, by the time the Government acts, it's too little too late. They're finally moving on the code but still won't consider divestiture. Like many, I'm frustrated by the lack of progress. While the Greens have proposed legislation, it's not strong enough. The Nationals will keep working on a model that avoids any unintended consequences.
