I loved this scene in the movie. The song "Hip To Be Cube" really accentuates the mood, and Patrick using Paul Allen's Aether Portal to get rid of his loot after he axes him was genius. Patrick's reaction to seeing that Paul Allen's base was nicer than his was pretty funny, too.

@@starplays3718 Hey Paul!…
@cjaymeme2 жыл бұрын
@@starplays3718 I enjoy the song, too. Most people don't listen to it as intended, however. In order to properly experience Huey's artistic intent, you must first create a true 4D surround sound environment by placing speakers to your left and right, behind, below, above, and in front of you, and most importantly inside several points in incomprehensible fourth-dimensional space. That last part can be tricky, especially when it comes to routing and plugging in your speaker cables. That combined with the cost of a stereo system which supports true 4D gives what I feel is too high of a barrier to entry to experience the song properly, which knocks off a few points in my book, as every other easier listening experience lacks the auditory depth of the intended version. That is why I personally prefer "Hip To Be Cube", although the race is close, and I respect your opinion.

Blistering Take: The End was one of the biggest mistakes Mojang ever made with Minecraft. The Aether / Sky Dimension (they scrapped it) looked WAY better than the absolutely HIDEOUS, dull and barren end dimension. It also fit into the Minecraft theme & aesthetic far more naturally (subjective I know) and was already loved by the playerbase. Imagine flying around with the WINGS you found in the SKY dimension (HELLO?????) and fighting your way through the greco-roman style white marble buildings perched on the tops of floating islands that stretch on forever among the clouds. *visibly shaking and perspiring* I uhh... I have to return some videotapes

The Aether is such an amazing part of Minecraft, despite not being a part of Minecraft. It is universally known about, with most everyone having attempted to make an aether portal as a kid. It *feels* like a part of the game! It *should* be part of the game! As another commenter said, it fits the game much better than the end! Its the heaven to the nethers hell! Imagine if they replaced the end with the Aether, it would make the theming so much better. You traverse your way through hell, to get to heaven, where you find and defeat a dragon, thus freeing heaven.
@Jellyman11292 жыл бұрын

Actually the end was originally going to be similar to a heaven, It was originally going to be a place you go to when you sleep if i remember right? Or some other way. But it was originally going to be much brighter. Which is why The End’s biome title is “Sky”, I dunno why they changed it, but i actually like the end much more then the aether. Even if at the time it wasn’t nearly as expansive, it’s a fun fight.

The existence of the Aether in Minecraft is reflective of the nature of happiness in reality. In reality there is no true happiness, there is only the inevitable suffering you will endure if you want to reach your goals. To win the game you must travel through the desolation and horror of the Nether, but its counterpart is never present. It's so far removed from that goal that it isn't even part of the journey. True happiness isn't something you reach by following the path, it's something you must go out of your way to create. To bring into your life through your own means. In that way it is much like a mod... Or maybe it's just a glowstone portal idfk

This really struck something within me, a chord of memory which hasn’t been seen for awhile now, it perfectly surmises the beautiful optimism and curiosity held by a child, don’t get me wrong i like to think that I still hold that curious optimism I’ve always had but some things just aren’t the same as the used to be and that is kind of a good thing..... ya know, we might not all be curious or optimistic but all if not most of us have that one thing that we look upon to fulfil that tiny amount of curiosity and optimism which we still have no matter if it’s for the past or not. It’s just rare to come across something which sparked us all collectively at a young age, I feel as if that is why this supposed chord was struck. I'm actually doing an EPQ on game modding (UK college students will know what I mean), which is basically a 5000 word essay about a topic of choice. In it I've included a whole paragraph dedicated to Minecraft and the Aether Mod. I wrote: "The mod’s features were engraved into player’s heads, believing they are from the official vanilla game. “pouring a bucket of water into a portal made of glowstone” and seeing nothing happen and then going on the internet and finding out that this feature was never in the actual game and was a mod. The legacy of this modification was truly integrated into the community and no matter how you look at it, is an amazing feat in the gaming industry." and my teacher, who is relatively knowledgeable about games, still didn't understand anything about what i meant by the whole paragraph and I had to spend good 2 hours explaining to him the impact of aether and it just goes to show how much the mod has influenced us as players and its truly magnificent. All the love to fellow minecraft fans ❤️
