Such a shame that the real interesting bunker construction can't be placed on KZbin because you don't want anyone even know it exists.

LOL, no, it's not going to be a secret bunker. It will all be revealed in future videos!

You’re surely located in the above sealevel part of the Netherlands 😂 as there seems to be no groundwater seeping in. Great idea though to keep the wife happy 😃

Very nice, good thing you have nice soft Dutch sand to dig in, makes your work so much easier

You should dig a tunnel from NL to UK to meet up with Colin Furze. Call it the KZbin Channel tunnel, it's sure to get the french jealous!

Southern USA, we have very dense clay soil that would make heavy equipment most welcome (or, it would be several weeks of hand shoveling!). I didn't know soil could be so soft before watching your video haha Awesome project! My vote is b. shelter!

Mini Graafmachine huren voor een paar dagen valt best mee and werkt prima. Maar dit is leuker inderdaad.

I was worried about you and your project, but have seen your update on the heatpump. :) This video is awsome, but there are a few questions if you could include the answers to your next video it would be splendid: - How did you drill the 3 meter deep and 250mm wide holes (and how did you come up with the dimensions)? Were the auger extensions not flexing? (How did you place the columns?) - What are the dimensions of the shed? - How did you come up with the thickness of the floor stab? You mentioned that in the next video you'll say how you plan to retain the send etc I am looking forward to it. BTW did you do a soil test on your foundation? ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWjOgoN_rZKmf7M )
@TheDIYScienceGuy3 ай бұрын
Thanks! No worries, I'm still here! 😉 In this short you can see how I drilled the holes etc. The dimensions of the shed are 5.5x3.5 meter. For the thickness of the floor ther are guidelines which I looked up and I made it 3 cm thikker and added extra reinforcement to make it stiffer. I did no soil test because we don't need deep foundations where I live, because it is all sand. but thanks for the KZbin link, I will definitely check that out!

Wouldn't a DIY Science Guy rewire the stator himself?

LOL, good point, but no. That is beyond my DIY skills and interests.

Gaaf! (how) are you going to make it waterproof? Groetjes, Mark
@TheDIYScienceGuy Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, Thanks! I'm going to seal the concrete from the inside with sealant. And probably insulate the wals to prevent condensation. The ground water is at 4 meters deep, so that is not a problem.

@@TheDIYScienceGuy You should paint the walls with "Dysperbit" it's some kind of chemical pitch. Also it would be nice to insulate the bunker thermally. You can use XPS styrofoam for that (does not absorb water). Hope it helps, take care!

No, not yet. I'm working on the triple expansion solar steam engine at the moment. But I can really use the space, so I think I will continue digging next year.

@@TheDIYScienceGuy yea I know the pain. I needed to use a small pomp to drain the water away (clay).
