Scherzer probably isn't going to end up on a truly contending team, at least not one that's a World Series favourite. The teams that are real players for a World Series title either don't need him or will look for someone younger than him. He should be looking to land with a team that might be able to make a deep run from a wild card slot. If there's a fit anywhere, it might be his former team, the Rangers.

Just sign Carlos Estevez, Pete Alonso, then I think they could convince Max Scherzer for 1 yr $17-20M to sign, then extend Vladdy already. Give him his $450-500M extension that he wants. This could potentially be a team that wins 90-95 games and could make a deep run in the playoffs. I want to see Rogers Centre at full capacity in the playoffs for many games like the 2015 and 2016 runs. Sign Jays Sign $$
