Sean, water system looks great and will be a boon when spring comes around. Where your overflow comes out, you may want to make the pipe longer so it reaches the ground or put a big flat rock there for the overflow water to play onto, otherwise I fear it will wash the dirt away and undermine the foundations of the tank stand.

If you put the mesh under the screw cap on top of tote, it would make for easier clean out. Just my opinion. This way if you end up putting screws in the pipe instead of glue, you won’t have to remove screws to clean out mesh.

Hi Shaun, I let my lettuce self-seed so my backyard provides the first lettuce of the season for 15-20 people every week up until the first part of July when it gets to hot here. After that I go back to mowing on a regular basis. If any area is to dense I can easily transplant the lettuce where I want it.

We rarely get leaves or debris on that roof, so I'm hoping the mesh screen will provide most of my debris trapping needs. But if not then hopefully the addition of a debris trap won't be too hard.
