The confidence that trailer oozed was palpable! There wasn't a single bit of CG that I could see, except maybe the book. I'm pretty sure it was all in-engine, which is very impressive for a game still well over half a year out! That just tells me this game is gonna be POLISHED.

The game is pretty much done at this point. They've begun testing and patching bugs.

@@Omnis.satanica.potestas_omnis Apparently they are "debugging and finalizing." That last part could mean a lot of things. Given how much time they have, they can still continue to polish the graphics, world, engine, combat, everything. It is interesting though, I feel like other publishers would have shipped the game already in this state and it would sell (as long as it mostly worked). Like I said, they are reeeally polishing this one to a shine that we rarely see in games at all, let alone of this scale.

FF14 had the benefit of being an MMORPG where it could pace out their story but what will it be like in Single player game? The trailer so far is so intense. It feels like they dialed it to 11 on some parts.

That slow, minor key Prelude arpeggio in the background at the start really helps sell this as potentially the darkest FF title yet.

Something that makes me kinda concerned now is that this trailer confirms Jill (grey-haired girl next to Joshua in the original reveal trailer) is the Dominant of Shiva And in said original trailer, we hear “you all know the target. Shiva’s Dominant. And only the Dominant” What’s Clive doing in a mercenary group trying to kill/capture Jill? Based on his face tattoo if I remember right that’s the mark of either the dragoon order or the people under Odin, who we now know as Barnabas (Odin’s Dominant)

I wouldn’t worry about Clive having to potentially kill Jill early on. In this trailer we see a brief shot that looks to be after the Shiva v Titan fight, Clive is walking through a canyon w Torgal (his wolf), the guy who seems to be Ramuh’s dominant, a big guy, and if u look closely it seems the big dude is carrying someone on his back that looks like Jill. So I think the 2 being against each other is only something that’ll happen in the prologue.

it could be he doesn't know jill is the dominant at this point, since they don't say her name in that scene, and clive likely hasn't seen her since she was a child and didn't have shiva's power at the time? maybe him finding out she's shiva is what pushes him out of that group?

The last image they show on the Tapestry at the end looks like Ravana.

To me it kind of looks like an amalgamation of all of the Eikons (Garudas wings, Ifrits horns etc). I'm guessing it's probably an artistic depiction of Clive receiving part of each Dominants power, seeing as he can channel the abilities of each Eikon.

this reminds me of attack on titan in a sense that clive wants to inherit all of their power. it would be a big dick move if clive becomes the villian end of game, and you play as another hero to stop him

yeah the game looks great but I'm just appointed in the gameplay when are they going to implement the old classic turn-based RPGs with the new versions because this s*** is boring all you're going around is slashing m************ all day come on that's not an RPG or whatever

but... RPGs come in multiple shapes and forms. Not all of them are turnbased, or action based in an easy ot decipher way.
