me hace feliz...it makes me happy tu me haces feliz...you make me happy me haces la tarea por favor...do you make the homework please me hace pensar...that makes me think--- etc ahhh and the word "coraje" is to be brave in english ellos estan defendiendo su pais con coraje(valentia), valiente they are defending his country with courage. courage= coraje, valentia o valiente he is courage= El es valiente mad= enojado (ungry) I hope these phrases help you. pd; I`m learning english too, bye
@AriesMars Жыл бұрын
Courage in spanish it can be mad or bravery, both meanings are accepted and correct. The word Courage etymologically its origin is in French and it has 2 meanings, the first was anger and the second was bravery, in Mexico it is mainly used as anger, in Spain it is used more as bravery. That is why an English-speaking person can be shocked by a different meaning, many English words originate from French and Latin.

Hi Paul please can you tell me how to the word Excuse like you making excuse, thank you Paul!
@legaleagle467 жыл бұрын
Could you explain what you mean? "Excuse me" would be "Perdóneme" (formal singular), "Perdóname" (informal singular), "Perdónenme" (formal and informal plural), or simply "Perdón" (can be used either informally or formally, regardless of number). As a noun, "excuse" would be "excusa" or "pretexto," and "to make excuses" would be "poner excusas" (literally, "to put excuses") or "buscar pretextos" (literally, "to seek excuses").

Me da mucha alegria hablar Espanol and I hope that my speaking Italian will make this learning easy. Thank you Paul. I love your lessons and have just started. (But how do I type the ' over the letter I?) and how do I type the ~ over the letter n?) Do I have to change my computer settings to Spanish?
I think that learning Italian is more difficult than learning Spanish. Among other things, there are more irregular verbs in Italian, spellings are more difficult, and articles are more varied. Having learned Spanish has helped in many ways, but has also interfered in more ways than one. 😊✌️

In Spanish you don't "make" mistakes but you "commit" mistakes. Therefore the correct way to say it in Spanish is COMETER ERRORES. "Me da risa pensar en todos los errores que cometo en espanol".
@SpanishWithPaul7 жыл бұрын
Actually both cometer and hacer are used in Spanish when talking about mistakes. It depends upon the circumstances.
@arnelf367 жыл бұрын
SpanishWithPaul.com I'm just speaking based on experience. I already got corrected twice, once in Colombia and once in Spain using hacer errores. So I'm most likely not going to use it again. I think it is safer to stick with cometer.
@SpanishWithPaul7 жыл бұрын
I agree arnelf36, it's a delicate thing. Stick to what you feel safest with. Today I asked some native Spanish speaker friends of mine about that sentence and they didn't see anything wrong with using hago in that context. Having said that, Spanish is so diverse that what may be acceptable in one country might not be in another.

In Paul's paid (and worth every penny many times over) course, there are about 1 hour and 45 minutes of lessons on por / para. You will learn how to use them.

Pay and get his course- it’s addicting and worth the small fee. I just went through the POR vs PARA course and it became crystal clear in my head very quickly.
@willtabacchi14086 жыл бұрын
I believe the following explanation is largely correct: When an exchange is happening involving money, then use "para". However, if you want to say "for" use "por". Of course there are always exceptions of which the most common is "Esto es para ti" - this is for you. I also agree about Paul's paid course. It will be the best investment you can make.

Why are you using me da and not me hace in "me da miedo manejar solo en la noche" I'm confused.
@larrynarvaez75453 жыл бұрын
When “me hace” is used, an adjective is used to follow it. For examples, it makes me happy = me hace feliz or me hace alegre. When “me da” is used, a noun is used to follow it. For examples, me da felicidad (happiness) or me da alegría (happiness). 😊✌️ So, we say “me hace miedoso (fearful) manejar solo en la noche” or “me da miedo (fear) manejar solo en la noche”. 😊✌️

When do y use de nuevo vs otra vez for again?
@rudymelo8806 жыл бұрын
The way I think of it (whether 100% correct or not) is that otra vez is literally "another time" and de nuevo is like "again." I think they are somewhat interchangeable

"Me da tristeza." The difference between the two constructions is that "hacer" can only be used with adjectives and verbs ("me hace reir," for "it makes me laugh," for example) and "dar" can only be used with nouns. So you can say "me hace triste" OR "me da tristeza," but NEVER "me da triste."

Because the rule in Spanish is that the object prounoun always goes BEFORE the conjugated verb in a statement or a question, never after it.

That would mean « Give me joy » instead of « It gives me joy » You’ll understand it more once you learn the imperative mood
