This is the ship for people who appreciate slow burn, and realistic romance. Everyone's going the other way yet I'm still here rooting for them. Maybe because what Maeve and Otis had is just the reality of what most relationship looks like? Responsibilities, tricky decisions, bad timing. When they're on screen together I always feel and share the maturity of their character, esp. the way they talk to each other, console each other. Imagine the writers making them together instantly then it would be just like the cliche teenage love story where they would break up and make up again and again. And this is a more mature season. They're all getting older. Otis's family's getting bigger, Maeve's dedicated to bettering her life situation. It's overwhelming and realistic that you'd understand why they ended the season that way. And yes, Otis may have chemistry with Ruby but he has a point, that " I love you " was so fast and he isn't just there yet, i'm glad he was honest with Ruby. There goes the maturity of his character. It took him 3 seasons to love Maeve, we can't conclude an endgame with just a few episodes. I do have high hopes for them in s4, esp. esp with the fact we waited 3 seasons for them to admit their feelings for one another, we're just at the beginning. but for me, it's more like.. wherever and whoever they end up with, I feel like it would be acceptable because they understand each other so well. In three seasons of will they won't they they have built the trust and friendship and I think that's more important than anything else.

I'm just pointing out that Maeve and Otis's arc are for those people who understand that their story had to happen that way. And I do really see the potential of Ruby+Otis, I empathize with what happened but I think the writers had to make Otis mature in that scene. It was too early for both of them to call it love, but it doesn't mean it won't happen again that's why there's a big possibility that they will reconnect again next season and that I said I think it would be understandable if Maeve and Otis end up with whomever, I feel like they would preserve their platonic relationship i'm not sure, but their connection was there already there, it's something we can't change, and sometimes loving each other doesn't always require being together. If that happens then it would be more of like T.O.T.G.A kinda thing.

It'so interesting to see how the dynamic between them changed over time. At the beggining, he was timid, afraid, insecure, and she was more dominant and confident towards him. As the time passed, he became more aware, credits to her ofcourse, more certain of himself, and she was pulling back as her feelings for him grew. She was so unfamiliar to being in love and loved, so she feared more and more. I really love their story, together they are witty and happy, full of laughs and love and smart talk. I never left Meave and Otis ship❤️

While i am all for Maeve and Otis it just sucks seeing their relationship develop because every time they say they love each other they always drift apart, for example in season 3, they kissed all was going good and then Maeve went to America. It’s just with Otis and Ruby their relationship was like an actually relationship unlike when Otis was with Ola. And during Rotis, Otis didn’t think about Maeve once, it was only after they broke up, which btw was for a dumb reason. Rotis brought the best out of Ruby and Otis, she become more loving and open, and Otis become more confident and assertive. Also Rotis tore the sex Ed fandom apart in 3 episodes that has to say something for motis which was building their relationship for 3 seasons, there has to be a reason why people love Rotis so much.

I just belatedly watched the entire series and I love how perfectly this video captures the incredible dynamic between Maeve and Otis. I was actually shocked to learn that people had turned away from this ship and towards Ruby and Otis. I can understand if people enjoyed that dynamic, but I also feel like if you're truly invested in who these characters are at their core then it's so obvious that Maeve and Otis are meant to be. All of these characters are flawed, but I think they act in very human ways, especially as teenagers still figuring out life. When Maeve comments early in Season 3 that Otis doesn't seem like someone who would want to be in a casual relationship, Otis then almost immediately asks Ruby to be less casual because he actually trusts how Maeve perceives him as a person. When Ruby says that she loves him not long after they start dating, Otis also realizes that in order to be true to himself he has to be honest that he doesn't have the same feelings for her. When Maeve and Otis are stranded in France and the truth is revealed about the voicemail, you can see how much they've been waiting to tell each other how much they care and that their connection matters the most to them. It was never just physical attraction with them; they had deep feelings of love that they didn't know how to process. I hope Season 4 will actually spend some solid time exploring the dynamic between Maeve and Otis in a proper relationship, how it feels to be with someone you really love, and the intimacy that can be created. I would love for Maeve to meet Jean. The most special thing that I appreciate about Maeve and Otis is that they are able to be vulnerable and completely themselves with each other, and that it is reciprocated. That's what makes them each other's "person". That's what makes them a truly great ship.

Spoilers for finale!!!! Beautifully written video description. Especially after the finale, I think that you took the thoughts right out of my mind. Such a accurate phrase of "Right people, wrong time". While many people jumped on board the Otis & Ruby ship, I have never left the Otis & Maeve ship. While the finale felt rushed (like most other finales out there), the most beautiful line in the entire series besides "it's you, it's always you" is when Maeve said in the letter "I'll always carry a part of you around". That to me is the definition of true love. Although I'm sad the ending wasn't a particularly a happy one, however, I think it's left open to our imaginations. I for one would like to imagine that sometime in the near future, Maeve will definitely be back to see her sister. Or Otis in particularly, going to America to be a Psychiatrist. Thank you! Yes, I do hope the writers realize they have gold in their hands and don’t pay much attention to popularity of a ship. I don’t think they will. Plus the Ruby&Otis storyline (for me) has been told. Just like Maeve and Jackson were. I think Ruby realized she’s worthy of love and a real connection and so she now can go and find that for herself and open herself up. Plus I do believe it only takes a few cute and bittersweet scenes for everyone to jump back on the otis and maeve train. I feel like people kinda forgot how great they were and their unique chemistry. If the writers, who are brilliant, are able to make the fandom love Isaac they can definitely make people love Otis and Maeve again. Plus no way this show is ending without a sex scene between Maeve and Otis.

I'm here after watching season 4 and I can't believe they did that to Otis.. I've found many common things in Otis' personality and mine and watching him ending up like that literally made me cry..It was like everybody gets a happy ending except poor Otis..This video is all I want to remember about my favorite show and characters which I've lived with since I was 17..my heart is broken but in my mind they've reached a very happy ending

I agree so much with your description. its really great to see people think the same. and know that Otis and Maeve are the heart of sex ed. and always will be. their bound is something so so special and beautiful, bringing out the best in each other. when they are together its so clear that they are meant for each other. that's why I watched this show and why I love it so much. you've captured that beautifully with this edit, extremely well. I love all the parallels you've connected here, and especially that speech of Remi talking about holding those who you love tightly, overlapping the scene of them hugging/holding each other tightly while teary eyed at the end, because that's immediately what I thought of when watching that scene. shows the amazing writing of this show, and your amazing talent. This video was the best. Ive been in a state of bafflement for days because of ppl ignoring them (and what they’ve been through together) just because of a few episodes of Ruby and Otis being cute together. The relationship they had has always been doomed from the start since Otis was STILL clearly in love with Maeve. Motis was trying for other relationships but they just always gravitate back to each other. I hope the story next season would explore them being properly together. They’ve been through so much 💩 that they deserve to be happy now. What’s a few months of separation (w/ Maeve being in America) when they’ve already pined/waited for each other for this long. Im still LOYAL to this ship (and will probably go down with it if the writers simp themselves just because of ppl now wanting Rotis to be together) ❤️ its ALWAYS been them. You’ve ABSOLUTELY reassured me that there r still loyal people out there 😂

Such an amazing video! I'm so so soooo touched by it. And you really did capture their relationship perfectly and I wholeheartedly agree with the caption. I was blown away by the many Otis and Ruby videos in my recommended, like wow, really? I mean, Ruby and Otis were cute, and I can see why people like them, and they could work because they grew a lot too, but, Otis was still in love with Maeve during their relationship. I love that Ruby went out of her shell for Otis, accepting him, going on a double date, and introducing him to her Dad. But like what Jakob said, "people deserve your whole heart" and Otis just can't give that to Ruby. As for Maeve and Isaac, I didn't like them, but that's probably because of what Isaac did, deleting the voicemail. And yes, he did redeem himself for telling her eventually but, it wasn't enough for me to make me like them as a couple. Yeah, he was there for Maeve but, had he not done what he did, I doubt they'd be that close. I can't even begin to say how happy I am when Maeve finally asked Otis about the voicemail. They've always had this wrong timing thing, like nothing always goes their way, so like when they've kissed, it was so satisfying, cause it was everything they both ever wanted. And even though Maeve was with Isaac and knew that she shouldn't be kissing Otis, she couldn't fully pull away either and they just kept going until the bus came. Anyway, idk what my point here is... haha.. I just wanted to say that your vid and editing was perfect and I ended up writing this.....

Ruby and Otis was good while it last but it lacks the spark that M and O bring to us. For me and probably a lot of you guys here these 2 are meant for each other. SS3 has a open and bittersweet ending, maybe giving us a hint about Emma Mackey's departure but I sincerely hope that's not true and we'll get to see Maeve again in SS4, coming back from America after 2 or 3 episodes about her life outside of England and forming a relationship with Otis and that will be endgame for them!

I think the every step of the realtionship beetween Otis and Maeve is something. I cannot fully tell what it is, and probably I don't want to - it would be too limiting. Every single smile, every single glance, every word mattered and was part of the process of love. There are a lot of phrases which weren't said across the lines of their realationship... and those deeply inspired me. Their relationship is an insight into not only teenergers feelings and adolsence - it is an exmple for everybody. I guess I have rarely found examples of love like their. Thanks to them the whole school changes- everybody, everybody starts a process of self love, acceptence, change. And not only the students but the parents too. The love they feel for each other it's that kind of love - true, timeless, naked - which is such a rush that it affects everyone. Irresistible. Noone can act like it doesnt affect oneself, personally. It is such a revolutionary wind, a lightful source, that nobody can hide oneself from it. It is that kind of love which brings attention, care, comprehension, stimulation, insipartion, acceptence, self care. It the kind of love that heals. "I dont't want to lose you again". So Otis says. Though he lost Maeve onehundred times. And so has Maeve. It's like they're always falling into something new and unexpected, walking alone in the forset at night, but with an inner light that guides them. 'Cause at the end, as long as that light keps them alive and they follow it they will never loose each other. "So this is a goodbye? No, it's a see you soon (smileing)". It is not about space, it is not about time, it is not about events, it is not about the way they dressed, or the way they behaved, it is about love. That's all. They will never loose themselves because what they have is above all - it's endless, it's life at its purest.

September 21st everyone!! Bring it on. This video made me watch the series just for Otis and Maeve and I wasn't disappointed, well I was multiple times lol, but the whole show was brilliant, not something I thought I'd go for but the slow burn of this relationship is so realistic and takes me back to a similar situation in my life around the same age as the characters. Both actors are faultless, especially Emma, what a raw talent given this was her first break. Kudos. But without this video I'd have missed out, you've managed to capture the essence of the story between these two so well with great pacing, music and not adhering to the chronological timeline like most other fan videos do, and I've watched a lot believe me. So much so I keep coming back to this like it's a routine, I can tell you were really invested in them too, you don't churn out such quality like this unless it means a lot to you, so thank you. Roll on Sept 1st for season 4, can't wait to see how the story wraps up, hope it's not bittersweet and they sort their shit out. Kind of expected it being the last season, think it's a good call tbh.

Hey MaevexOtis shipper here, but I also am okay with Ruby and Otis. I believe Maeve and Otis are meant to be, but I like to think that Otis had to be with Ruby to see what he truly wanted-which was to be with Maeve. The writers try their best to show real life and though we all want Maeve and Otis to FINALLY ride off into the sunset, I guess in reality, Otis wouldn't just wait forever. Like Jean said, he needed to try different relationships and that's how he saw that he wanted something meaningful (aka with Maeve) but yeah a lot of people aren't fans of the will they/won't they and I guess they just found some thrill in a change since we know Motis forever. But yeah that's all, Motis forever, hope I could explain that in an okay way?

@@valcyrilestrada Love develops slowly. And there were twists and turns in their relationship. Jackson, Ola, Issac, Ruby, all came as hurdles between them. Ruby is actually like Jackson for maeve. Maeve refused to say I love you Jackson, So did Otis. BC they love each other. People just want to see Mimi, not Ruby. Ruby and Adam both deserve a lovely ending with different people.

Unfortunately for the story, the actual on-screen chemistry between Ruby and Otis was dynamite. What did Otis get in the end with Maeve? A hug and a peck on the cheek. The fireworks were not there and I'm alright with that. Maeve story arc is basically over. She has improved her circumstances taken an incredible opportunity in America. As Aimee says, he's just a boy. Bringing her back to be her old self would be fan service. Otis now needs to move on.
