Always saw the late great actress/director Penny Marshall at Brimfield every year. She blended in w/the crowd and was unnoticeable most of the time. RIP Penny

Saw the Quiz Wiz by Coleco there at 6:02. I loved mine as a nerdy kid. Had several of the cartridge-quiz books that the base unit plugged into. Have not seen one in a long time. Very cool.

Technically, I'm taking her, but she introduced me to the Brimfield Flea Market back around 1999, so she's kind of responsible for starting this whole flea market obsession of mine.

Hi from Belgium! Tom, love your fleamarket hunts! Most steiff teddies have a button in their ear with the text "Knopf im Ohr". But not all steiff items have them, for example mecki-hedgehogs, they have a plastic head and a small ear.

OK. I didn't know about the metal button thing. I'll have to keep a look out for it. For $40 though, it's probably not a Stief though.

that holiday inn ashtray reminds me of my friend who collects hotel matches. She is not a smoker but she would book smoking room just to collect the match. But now it is quite hard to find any hotel room that allow people to smoke. I guess safety issues.

Hi Tom. The Vermont Country Store in Vermont sells those green butter dishes and salt/pepper shakers. So these are mostly likely replicas. Thank you for another great flea market video.

Tom, can't post a pic but I thought I remembered this, so I pulled the cocktail shaker out and sure enough it says "It's Cott To Be Good" on it...remember Cott soda?! I'm in CT too...wasn't it a local soda company, or headquarters was here? Anyway, now this makes sense...my family owned a printing company back then in New Haven, and they printed for Cott. We'd get all kinds of promotional items from companies they did printing for (Peter Paul Mounds...we'd get candy bars too! WTNH and others.) So that's where we got ours shakers, from Cott soda promotions. Don't know if the one you picked up had the Cott slogan on it or not.

I have two of that first item, the cocktail shaker...from my parents' 1960's bar.❤I still use them too...not to shake up a martini, as my metal one chills it better, but I'll put iced coffee or tea in it. I'm curious, do you recall what they were asking for it? I have no idea where they came from, but to me they look like something the gas stations gave away back then...but that's just a guess. I'm hoping to get to the Sept. Brimfield this year! I haven't been since 2018. Time flies, but also, the dreaded "Covid times" got in the way after that.

Hey look! The Brimfield fair turned into the Rietta flea market in Hubbardston Ma at 11:55. Brimfield had actual antique dealers at 1 time. They were all purged about 4 years ago and replaced with crap run of the mill dealers you find at say, the Grafton flea market or the Raynham flea market or the worst flea market in Mass - Rietta. No one wants to buy junk from the 80s and 90s that came out of someone's attic, garage or basement. Barbies and beanie babies at Brimfield - Pathetic. Its fallen into disrepair. In other words, Brimfield has become Building 19. Brimfield has a beer garden now that never existed when i went there. Traffic through Sturbridge and Brimfield has lessened big time too. I'll go to Bernat Antiques in Uxbridge Ma before I ever go back to bumfield.

@fleabittenadventures4 ай бұрын
Not currently. I would if I could find some though. In my area, garage sales are very poorly advertised. If I randomly run across one I may stop. I tried a yard sale/garage sale finder app on my phone, but there are very few listings. If you know an easy way to find garage sales, please let me know! Thanks.
