The first integrated team would definitely be the biggest evolution in football. Adding black athletes evolved the game.

The 1969 Darrell Royal Texas Longhorns certainly vies for that title depending on how you define most influential. It was the team that was successfully implementing the wishbone offense as they were undefeated, Julius Whittier was a freshman integrating the team (but did not play as a freshman) it was the 100th anniversary of college football, the team beat Arkansas and President Nixon attended the nationally televised game, awarding UT the number of 1 rank after the game and UT finished the season number 1 by defeating Norte Dame. Of course, Freddie Steinmark's tragedy brought the band of brothers together in the Arkansas game, as the 1969 Texas vs. Arkansas football game, was sometimes referred to as the "Game of the Century", with the college football game played on December 6 in which No. 1 Texas visited No. 2 Arkansas at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Longhorns came back from a 14-0 deficit after three quarters to win 15-14.

Florida with Tebow invented the wildcat which had a good run, still used in short yardage all over CFB and NFL.

My high school ran a wing T offense. We were 1 game above 500 every year and only had a few forward passes and I was lucky enough to catch one. Sadly this was the late 90’s. Not the 60’s or 70’s

The topic is "influential," not the most talented. To me, this is teams that affected change in various aspects of the game whether it's recruiting, training, diet, offensive or defensive schemes, coaching, etc. Other teams (even in the pro's sometimes) changed their own programs to mimic these aspects.
