This is the sound of an era, a time no more, and the game is now a perfect reflection of that decade. All 4 original founders of Rockstar are gone after RD2, the ones who wrote everything from GTA 1, to San Andreas, to V, Bully, Manhunt, Max Payne, all of that - is no longer current and is being put to bed. This theme really hits hard 9 years later. Cherish your existence, be happy you got to be there for any of it because one day we’re here and the next we’re gone. I started playing the game on it's launch day, 17th September 2013 . I pre ordered it for my PS3. I remember how mindfucked i was when i first played it. Literally everything about the game blew me away. I was 13 at the time (yeah i know, in 2013 i was 13 years old, pretty cool huh). And i had a knack for literally spending hours to read the Wikipedia page about the things i like. I did that for this game too. I remember reading every little detail into how this game was made. I still remember they i guess shot more than 100k pictures of Los Angeles and 40k+ videos just to recreate the beauty of the map. And they did that successfully. And after reading everything and playing the game for 1000 hours (no kidding), made up my mind that i want a job at Rockstar North (the specific Rockstar studio responsible for the development of the game for the most part) and i want to see my name in the end credits of GTA 6 (lol). When i got the game, at first i literally spent a month or two to just explore the game the map and everything and didn't do any missions. Then i wanted weapons money all that so i started playing the story. Fell in love with it. Franklin became my favourite. Also i remember logging onto GTA online the first day it launched, 1 October 2013 just 13 days after the release of the game. I didn't get the chance to play as everyone knows how fucked up the servers were that day. I played on 2nd or 3rd then. Made a hell lot of friends online. Summer of 2015 is my favourite that was the time i joined a wonderful crew and made a lot of friends. Our summer vacation was going on and we used to play for 24 hours! Then it got slow because most of the people shifted to next gen. I couldn't. I still have my PS3 and don't have a PS4. Today is 23 December 2021, 8 days after the servers went offline for PS3. And i logged on the game one last time to get the last glimpse of my character, cars, weapons, money (thank you all the modders), my character's stats, and the whole game in general before it you know got complicated and all the things because of which people don't like it today. Also i started playing on my laptop (shitty, but hey atleast i can play gta again) two or three months ago. Currently, the game is on in front of me and the pause menu is opened. I forgot about the fact that pause menu had a music. It suddenly started playing while i was doing something and paused the game for it. High dose of nostalgia hit me suddenly. And after 2 minutes, I'm here writing this comment. Thanks to all the readers who made it here and I hope you have a great day in GTA the next time you play :D

My dad showed me this game when I was 7 and I've been playing it ever since. I cant wait for gta6 and ill probably be in my senior year by then but I will enjoy it the same way I enjoyed gta5. although people complain about how long it is taking for gta6 to release, I think that you need to give rockstar props for making a game that lasted a decade without people complaining and leaving the game. Just now this year I've noticed the game slowly and slowly lose the players including me... But this game still calls back to me every few months and I play the whole story from start to finish and play online with my friend's again and I think that is the reason this game is one of if not the best video game to ever release. I've played this game for nearly a decade... Across consoles, and across platforms. Over 3500 hours. Over a thousand levels, almost 600M $ earned / stolen, hundreds of cars, dozens of aircraft, every boat, hundreds of failed missions, funny moments, epic moments, and even sad moments. I remember getting GTA on release day for ps3. I played the rest of the day and even next morning a bit before I went to school. Heck, i even took it with me to show of my classmates that i now have GTA 5. Now, august 2022, we have come so far. Alot of new content, 3 generations of consoles and i like every era for its own. I still play it regularly but ps3 were the best cause party chat was'n a thing on ps3 so you could meet new friends. Miss y'all btw. My roommate back than who didnt play much games before and never played any game afterwards bought a PS3 and the game at launch day, took one week off and locked himself into his room. We still talk about the game and the time back than and we will never forget it. I started playing online a few months ago with my little brother. It’s a new experience but I share it with someone again I deeply love and respect. It’s just a great experience.

That's why I feel depressed most of the time, since I thought those friendships and those times would last longer, but it didn't. I was always taught that growing up was good and feeling mature, I just feel depressed now, as if everything was straight up a lie. Hi, I'm from Italy. I remember the moments when I played GTA 5 on the PS3 and sometimes paused to listen to his music. I had totally forgotten it until, watching a video of an Italian youtuber, this one had set that music as background. Just think, the video was about the closing of the GTA Online servers on PS3 and XboX360 and many in the comments of that video had written: "You have chosen the best song to represent this moment". *nostalgia*

Man it was so simple back then. The good old days. I think that the early 00s all the way to 2015 were probably the pinochle of everything. We live in a shitshow nowdays… And I don’t know what exactly but this theme makes me sad because it brings a lot of memories about people and places that are long gone but never forgotten, about a world where you are free like a bird not knowing what the world has to offer you. These times will never comeback. So live your live to the fullest always! Because every moment becomes a memory of the past. 🙌🏼

And this is just the pause screen😅. There’s so many other iconic synth waves and music tracks throughout the game. Like for example flying ambience that plays every time your in a plane or helicopter. Truly iconic even through all the ups and downs. Love it or hate it this tron type music can sell me in any game. The first time i heard this song was around 10:00 in the morning, i went to go eat breakfast, while i was eating breakfast i heard something from the living room, and as i went closer and raise the volume, I immediately let the game pause for a few minutes, finished my food, and just listened to the music, those days i wish i can listen to it for the first time all over again

Wow, so many memories flooding back to me right now... Very important game during my time at college & with certain people. Remember the first few weeks of excitement upon launch, the first few times online with college friends, the radio stations & specific songs I'd listen to, as well as all the repeatedly failing heists with close people in a lan-party type set up. We even studied the game in college at one point!

Man, it will almost be one year when I took a three month break started playing this game again and it was in May lol and I was eating dinner alone and I had this on the TV in the living room and I heard this and it just hit me. Oh my God this theme is amazing.

September 17th, 2013. I was 11, and had really high hopes for Gta V. I had classes in the afternoon, so I had to play during the night (most of the times it was after 11 p.m, cause my parents would take the game away if they saw me playing it). I fell asleep a couple of times, and this beautiful piece was playing almost in every one of them. Man, how I wish I could go back in time to relieve it all. The moment I finished the story, it was one of those moments that i just felt fulfilled. And then came the online… way before the craziness of flying futuristic cars, countless hours went by… When I come across a video like this that makes me reminisce, I actually feel great, cause I know i enjoyed this game a lot. I’m 20 now, on my second year of network engineering. But the 11 yo kid in me will never forget what this game meant.

Crazy that it's gonna be 10 years next year, doesn't feel like it but at the same time it does. I'm not an online type of player, so I was kinda let down, but it doesn't matter how disappointed I was with how gta v turned out in the future, no game, and probably nothing, will ever hype me up like waiting for gta v release and those first days playing it, that was something else.
