I love my unit, looks and kinda feels like a dreamcast controller and a gameboy mixed together. Oversharpening sucks though and I wish more youtubers point it out. I hope gamma os comes out for this device soon

Finally! These handhelds became smaller and smaller and my hands started cramping. My favorite size is the DMG- a few years ago some french guy made such an emulator device in the body of a DMG and kickstarted it... But had a few issues. Happy to see this size😊

I received mine, and the 34 GB's of games in a second folder in the PSP games folder were already populating when I used Anbernic's front-end, it had no problem locating those without me needing to do anything, they were already there. Maybe your issue with not having them populate was in the Android PPSSPP app?

For me, I wanted a vertical, Gameboy like device, but I wasn't so sure about buying any of the devices on the market. When this one came out it was love at first sight for that sexy nuclear purple. I. bought it on launch day and I'm completely in love with it. Also, my gf is happy playing Kingdom Hearts for PS2 and some PSP games ❤

Other question--- you mention this device not having HDMI out , however there is multiple sources saying that it can output video throguh the USB-c port (of course, throught the use of a specific USB-c to HDMI cable or dongle or converter or whatever). Is it possible for you to test this? USB-c itself and Android can certainly do this, however I guess it needs the porper software, in addition to the correct USB-c controller/port, however it might... and apparently it does, according to other souces. in any case, thanks!!

Great Video. Mine came in two days ago. And I love it more than my retroid pocket 3+. I mean, playing psp on it is very bad because of the screens aspect ratio, but that doesnt bother me. Its my main retro machine now. The most important thing is that I have carpal tunnel in my right hand/wrist. This is the first handheld that doesnt give me cramps after hours playing it. THAT alone is my top selling point.

It's definitely the most comfortable vertical handheld yet. Hopefully in a future version they round out those grips and work on the shoulder buttons. It's great right now but it could be nearly perfect if they fixed a few easy-to-fix issues.

Installed GammaOs beta on my 405v thats on this video at 10:31 but cant change performance mode and it shows 405m/505 under setting instead of 405V. probably best to wait for official release.

A while back I got a data frog hand held which was pretty awesome until the internal battery system went kaput. . Temu gave me a full refund for returning everything but the memory card. I happen to have an Intel compute stick, so I was thinking about seeing if I can get the data frog memory card to work with my compute stick. Wish me luck.

Hey have you ever thought about making your own hand held given how you’ve reviewed so many different models and that you do like tinkering on your PC’s would you ever try making your own? Granted, I’m not saying sell it because you’re just one person but maybe like make a prototype and then maybe if the prototype does good maybe you can contact some kind of investors. when it’s coming to like these little handheld’s and mini PC’s and even game emulation in general i’ve kind of learned everything from your channel so I think your definitely qualified for this🤩👍

The biggest disappointment for me is the thumb sticks not feeling smooth or accurate it really doesn't make any sense unless its a firmware issue. I could care less about there rom sets easy enough to setup my own card been there done that even though it is nice when you don't need to do this. Interesting device maybe one to own once they fix some issues.

I guess i was a little misled on the performamce of this chipset. I figured it would be a little more plug and play with gamecube. After gammaOS on my 405m, im getting nearly every title i put on it to run in a playable state, but with dolphin, i cant run many in vulkan without bad graphical bugs, and with opengl, i have yo heavilt underclock many titles down to like 30-50% to get them smooth. I expected that for ps2, but not gamecube. So im getting a perfectly playable experience, but id like to see a proper walkthrough on how to set up stuff like ps2 and gamecube on this chipset because i feel like maybe im doing something wrong, being unable to use vulkan on almost any games Also im not using thr mmjr branch of dolphin, just thr google play store dolphin. Is that perhaps the issue? *edit* lol im an idiot and didnt get far enough in the video yet

How come the vs over the v? Was gonna get the v but is there a benefit that the vs has over it's more expensive, more spec'd out brethren? Or is it just that you don't mind it not having touch screen plus the other features

@@Jaschu-xs9mb I didn't try the V, but I really needed something that simply played retro games. I think the V is too jam packed with features and takes on too much. After playing the VS for a while - I think it would be a pain to have a touch screen.

You can get it from Anbernics website but it costs more. Buying it from Anbernics store on AliExpress is safe (you need to be careful which sellers you buy from on Ali)
