Mister Dweeb, I bought the green version, will be here tuesday, love your video on it, so far I have not seen any videos on setting this one up, just basically everyone talking about it as it exists, I would hope someone would show how to optimize this thing, and make it obvious what its gonna do well, thanks for the video, and keep making me laugh.

Blazing Dragons is one of my fav PS1 games. A hilarious point and click adventure game influenced by Monty Python with voice acting from Terry Jones and Cheech Marin.

Intelligent Cube is a game that i never found in stores, but had a demo for it that i played for hours. you basically try to destroy cubes before they crush you lol. its really fun and makes you panic when you start running out of room 😆 another is thousand arms. its my first "dating sim" rpg game that ive beaten multiple times, cause its a fun rpg, and totally did "not not" play it for the dating sim cause i was lonely and couldn't get a date in real life HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA 😥😥😥😥😥😥

Excellent review! Just a question though. I am planning to replace my miyoo mini with this device. But main concern is how comfortable is the one hand gaming on this device compared to the miyoo mini?

Good call on Decrption, Tron Bonne and Brave Fencer Musashi. Love that last one to bits, as well as its sequel on the PS2. Here are some more hidden gems i hope Techdweeb covers soon: Trap Gunner - a top-down 1v1 arena fighter/shooter involving trap setting similar to Deception series. Slap Happy Rhythm Busters - a 1v1 3D fighting game like Rival Scools, but with rhythm game based finishers. Omega Boost - a 3D space mecha shooter akin to Zone of the Enders, but on the PSX. Silent Bomber - another 3D action game where your character places bombs on opponents while didging them and their attacks. Racing Lagoon - an RPG Racing game (yup you read that right) that was never released outside of japan and only recently received the full english fan translation patch.

Best one is still Spyro the dragon (1). Its beyond amazing. Graphics aged fantastically. Gameplay is really easy to get into, yet gets more challenging the further you get into the game. The music by stewart copeland (from the band “the police” ) is awesome. It feels kind of like an open world. The movement is really fun in this - especially the running mechanic (which makes it feel like a racing games sometimes), the cutscenes are short and skipable, the characters all look amazing, the whole game has the same theme - but then also ever world and level have a different theme. The whole game is so well written and coherent! The colour palettes are very pleasing to the eye, there is no onscreen visual clutter. I think its truly the best game for the system. - anyway Techdweeb, love your videos of keeping this ancient technology alive!

The one game I found in bargain bin one day, that I've never heard anyone ever mention, is Battle Hunter. Its missing some polish to be considered a gem, but my friends and I had a blast. A turn based RPG where you could make your own character AND it was 1-4 player with your friends using their own characters. Definitely a bit on the weirder side and low budget though.

Oh man, choosing just one PS1 game to recommend is so hard! One of my favorite things about the PS1 is that there are so many incredible games in it that nobody has ever heard of! By far my favorite is YuGiOh Forbidden Memories- which takes the YuGiOh cards and lore and makes them do things that a physical card game could never do. Super creative and unique use of the license that IMO holds up a lot better than the card game itself. I also love _Ninja: Shadow of Darkness_ which not a lot of people have heard of despite being made by the Tomb Raider team. I grew up with this game and I'm honestly surprised it's not more widely known - a real hidden gem of late 90s action games. In some respects it reminds me of the classic Ninja Gaiden NES games, but in 3D. I also think far too many people neglect the amazing Japan-exclusive PS1 library. My go-to recommendations in this regard are the fighting game _Shaman King: Spirit Of Shamans_ and the beat-em-up _Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger_ (both from Bandai I believe). Both are licensed games from the very tail end of the console's lifespan, and as such are quite good-looking titles. There's great recommendations on other genres, but the language barrier makes them hard to recommend to everyone.

Please give "Tail of the Sun" a go! It's a really odd PS1 hidden gem where you play as a caveman trying to breed the ultimate offspring ubermensch. This ubermensch is charged with killing enough mammoths to use their tusks to build a ladder to heaven. When you die, and you will, you are reborn as your progeny to continue your lineage. Building up your various stats by eating the right foods and learning through hunting and combat. It's a fever dream that no one ever talks about.

I've always kinda avoided the PS1 because one of the only games I can remember ever trying on it was the Tomb Raider ones and I absolutely hated the d pad movement for platforming or walking around in general but I tried Crash Team Racing yesterday at a friend's house and loved it a lot... it looked just like something I would play on the Nintendo 64 but arguably even better like the tires looked more realistic imo and it worked just fine with an analogue stick instead of that d pad nonsense I feel like I've been missing out on a lot of ps1 games because I've always ignored them because of my first experience with those Tomb Raider games Note: to be fair I thought the ps1 didn't have anaolgue stick controllers until my uncle threw away his old retro stuff and I took it all lol so I got his Playstation and it had a ps1 controller with analogue sticks in it but the console sounded so rough and noisy when I plugged it in so I never really played it, I was going to clean it but never did I also got his SNES and NES ROB robot thingy and a couple Sega Genesis but some kid he was friends with in the neighborhood stole all his old retro games so that's why he didn't want any of it anymore
