This is shining a light on so many things that are wrong in our court system. So many laws are created not to protect survivors, but to protect the abusers. Following what is happening in the family court system right now I think is a great place to start. Mainly because abusers Often could be stopped in these cases, as there are early signs of this behavior that could’ve been prevented nine times out of 10 if people had listened to family members of those who have been abused! This is a structural issue. As a sexual assault survivor, I can say that the police did nothing and never even followed up on my case at all. This is pretty typical. Why do you think that is?

It really boils down to what the code said..."Lack of Personnel". This is happening across the board in multiple fields...NO SURPRISE. I don't think this something the public needed to be informed about only the victims. What people should not want is police department positions filled just to say they are filled. It is hard to find qualified, level-headed people already. I believe the increase in the "police-state" feeling is due to filling positions with unqualified people. It is also connected to an overabundance of paperwork and laws that prevent people from doing their jobs. It's a societal problem and is not unique to this police force. We have to get the root cause rather than finger pointing.
