Criticised for asking for Christian names? They should be criticised for not doing their job. I went to my GP, they barely seemed interested in doing anything and then gave me medical advice that NICE and GMC had ruled as not suitable for my problem. My dad was in hospital, nobody saw him for 5 days after which he had a stroke and needed help going to the bathroom but no nurses were around, they complained because they needed to change the bedsheets. Even with the immigration problems. Those in a "caring" profession, don't seem to care. It is the tail wagging the dog. It is meant to be a service they provide to the public, not one where people see doctors or nurses when they [doctors and nurses] can be bothered.

The NHS is far too expensive because it's wasteful and inefficient. It should have less money, yet provide a better, more efficient service! There should also be no 'opt-out' of the NHS, any more than there's no opting out of state education. If you want to go private, then fine, but it's important that everyone still pays in to the National pot. Additionally, GPs should not have to waste time, energy and stress on running their surgeries as businesses / partnerships - let them focus on what they do best and are trained for.
@B-pj8qe7 сағат бұрын
I worked for the nhs in a hospital across most departments. Most of the staff, especially the nurses, are lazy bone idol wastes of oxygen. Bad attitudes and full of themselves. The theiving and skiving that goes on is rampant. It is massively over funded and the patient's are treated like scum. At least 50% of the staff should be sacked and never be allowed to work in any public sector. And that is the absolute truth!!!
@stephenparsons-st6lp17 сағат бұрын
Most of the UK can't afford private medical too expensive they depend on NHS for lifeline.
@JamesBurdon-gu5yu14 сағат бұрын
Thats because they are paying for the NHS a 100% non functional health service that is a coffin that helps no one other than diversity officers and corrupt unions. Private care is too expensive BECAUSE of the NHs, Private insurance in US is a FRACTION of what i paid to the NHS when i was in the Uk and unlike the NHS you can actuallt get medical care unlike the death sentence system here.
@JamesBurdon-gu5yu14 сағат бұрын
You are blatantly wrong because most places outside of England have a service so broken they cant get help making it a deathline we are forced to pay for. Even by making the NHs optional and letting private be optional will make it 100x cheaper and practical. Also in the US medicade and medicare and other forced public spending is what has lead to denied claims and less accessible healthcare not the insurance companies

Forget the money for a second the population is supposedly 70 million, how do we have 1/2 million people on hospital beds in A&E at any given moment - that’s 1 in 140 at any moment in A&E, that is surely FAR FAR too high, how did we get so many sick people? Is it the aging population, health tourists, mental health or that we are bunch of hyperchondriacs now? Another way of looking at it is everyone on average is using the NHS once every 140 days, so every 3 and a bit months, something is very wrong - it’s clearly getting abused.
@lasttango752213 сағат бұрын
james jenkins Look at the Australian model they don't pay national insurance. They have a choice between different private health care providers. My couson recieves the top provider for less than my husband and I pay jointly for national insurance. In Oz the public make provisions for their pensions. In the UK we pay NI all our working lives and get very little pension in comparison. I believe the amount of NI we pay doesn't reflect our quality in healthcare or pensions.

Bank of England interest rates must come down to 2.5%. They should not have risen above 2.5%, post-Pandemic. The BoE claim that it's to control inflation is complete rubbish. The current UK mortgage debt is £1.66Trillion. The avarage mortgage holder is paying £3,600 more than they should, each year. That's a total of £41Billion, annually, going to the BoE, instead of being spent in the economy. Why is nobody seeing this!!!?
@johnmacaroni105Сағат бұрын
Historically, interest rates in the US and UK have moved in tandem. The Bank of England often follows the Federal Reserve's lead. The Bank of England is mindful of the impact rate changes have on UK consumers. In early 2022, the Federal Reserve began raising interest rates after keeping them low for almost two years during the COVID-19 pandemic. By August 2023, the federal funds rate had reached 5.33%, its highest level since the financial crisis of 2007-2008.

Sell the hospitals to private companies and raise trillions to save the country. Only the NHS and Church of England own the buildings they occupy; All others rent. Competition in hospitals will reduce prices and improve performance. The rent we pay will be included in the funding the Hospital receives to perform operations. The better hospitals will attract more patients and receive more money. The not so good ones will either improve or fail clearing the way for a better hospital.
