Soap & Clay is a family owned business operating in Washington State, but started out online thanks to Mrs. Soap & Clay's kickass brother and his amazing web design skills. The business was started as a tribute to Mrs. Soap & Clay's grandmother, the OG maker in the family that cultivated everyone's love for the DIY life. The studio/retail shop opened in 2017 on 6th Ave in Tacoma, and immediately began teaching soap, bath bomb, lotion, and scrub classes to the makers and maker enthusiasts of the PNW. In 2019, the pottery studio opened as well, making the soap shop a busy place full of artistic energy every minute of the day.
Mrs. Soap & Clay has been featured on Business Spotlight, New Day Northwest, and was awarded a coveted place on the South Sound's 40 under 40 list in 2019, an award given to the most influential business people under the age of 40 each year. She cried when she walked up to the podium to accept the award. A lot.
Drawing from her chemistry background and her maker spirit, Mrs. Soap & Clay infuses her favorite things into her soapy designs and creates products that are fun to see, use, and learn to make. Stick around for this ride - she'll take you on a great one.

Very difficult to make soap and wait on customers. I applaud this soap and agree the first soap is a feather swirl. Great colors for the Blue Jay feather swirl. Great job Georgia May! 👏👏👏💙💙💙

Whoa that is pretty Georgia Mae! Another great ending to a Soapy adventure... I’m so inspired by your soaping ladies :). For your hanger tool, since Mr S&C is a master of all trades he’ll get this: my hubby took a 3/8 rod , bent it at 90 degrees at 4” and again at 28”, and cut rod at 32”. He inserted the metal ends in a wood rod. I have way more control on the tool since it doesn’t bend like the ones we find out there. He made it to fit my smallest mold (24”) so I just do the thing twice in my 48” mold. Obliviously measures will change with your mold size, give yourself at least 1 to 1.5” more than the height of your soap on each end to clear the mold top. The wood rod will be a tad longer than your mold. Cheap and easy! Will last forever... heirloom in the making for the little soap makers

Absolutely beautiful! I love the bluejay theme she went with. And yes I highly recommend the Soap Challenge Club. I've got my entry in for this month and am extremely happy with the results. I'm getting ready to try making a beer soap for the first time and super excited. I'm thinking of a simple brown on brown simple swirl (nothing overly complicated since I'm expecting some accelleration from the Guinness (which I simmered for what seems like forever this morning and is now in the freezer), plus my fragrance oil is supposed to accelerate somewhat as well (so quick in the pot swirl and pour is what I'm thinking). Plus a pretty color on top before CPOP.

I just did my first secret feather swirl and I did take it down, moved it to the left and then up, then put it back in and down and moved it to the right. I got a double feather swirl. It wasn't what I had planned but I really liked how it turned out. I am very pleased with it.

I made a charcoal bar with a pink clay feather swirl. Was so excited about trying a new top I forgot to put the hanger in! Thankfully remembered but the batter was so thick. Thought it was a total fail but it looks cool! Not sure it looks like a feather but ....I'll see if I can tag you on IG.. by the way you need to make a T-Shirt "all the things" ~jc

What if... You were to insert skewers into the end of the cardboard (wrapped in freezer paper) then set another skewer in a way you can lift both at the same time?
