Out 4, home 2 would be great. I used to go into Salinas right often. Our company had a yard at Fontana. I used to work in the Washington, DC burbs. And around Atlanta. I do not think, as if 2010, that the I10, I5 traffic was as bad as 495 around DC, or 285 around Atlanta.

This kind of reminds me of when I traveled with the carnival. We would spend a week or 10 days at one spot and then, back out on the road. It took me forever to get the humming sound of our wheels, out of my head. Another down side of that life was the NOISE of the midway!

In my experience, once you drain those big batteries, they are never quite the same. Watch them...you can get stuck on a cold night. I used to run parts for the Nissan plants in Smyrna, TN, and Canton, MS....usually 18,000 to 25,000lbs...so easy to run. My last runs were Smyrna to Tawas City, MI, 2800 miles paid M-F....no grass under my feet, but, an easy run. I have run 6 weeks at a time...that sucks. You still can't run hard unless you get a 34 hour restart...and, 35 hours is not enough rest.

You should tell your fiance to google "Letter To A Truckers Wife". It's a poem "written" by the truck to the drivers wife. After reading it, my wife immediately named my Classic "The Mistress". I own 3 Cascadias and they do turn nicely. For my personal taste though, I'll keep my Classic. The first tractor I ever drove (and later bought) was a Freightliner FLD12064. They're basically a baby Classic, they share the chassis, cab and sleeper but, have a set back steer axle. For an old school design, they turn pretty well too. They used to be a common sight but not so much anymore. I still have mine and it still gets used occasionally when one of the other tractors goes down for repairs. Be safe out there young man!

I feel you about the Friday night and Saturday thing. I go to school and work full-time.. I haven't had a weekend to chill in almost a year! The couple of times i do get a Friday or Saturday off, I sleep all day since i'm so tired. It will be worth it later on.. at least that's what i'm hoping for!

Midwest Can Company (“MCC” which can be found on the side of the Can) down in Arnold, MO, produces over 10,000,000 (Million) Empty can’s in two (2) 12-hour shifts. That equates to over 50+ truckloads daily most of which go down to the St. Louis Brewery. The local Brewery Trailers have rollers throughout the entire floor of their trailers and on those trailers specifically, a Robot loads the entire trailer at the same time in a matter of 5-10 minutes. It almost takes more time to Open and Close the doors of the trailer. This is the Largest Can Plant in the US and another connected building produces the Aluminum beer Bottles. Mostly AB InBev beer brands and also Pepsi soda brands are produced here.

I think in few years i am going to try to become a truck driver.i dont really mind being by myself considering that I've moved around a lot in my life and having friends isn't really my main priority at the moment. But honestly the driving looks a bit overwhelming like the reversing and having to decide if you can make certain turns or not. maybe after a bit of practice it'll be less frustrating for me.

Pretty truck, but I had a 2015 Volvo, D15, auto shift. The ease of driving, the excellent visabiliry, I would never trade it. I hated the DEF...mine did wonderful on fuel...close to an average of 8.5 mpg one week.

The hiccups are funny. Frito-Lay takes everything off pallets, and hand loads the boxes...sometimes you sit for 4-7 hours. They pay the fine, they do not care....claim the extra amount saves tons of money. I was told that if I had a problem with it, not to come back. Said they would fine my company $1000 if I didn't wait for the load. Complete assholes. BTW, what newer truck were you driving?
