I think it looks super clean! Totally worth the time. Your whole setup shows tons to attention to detail. Bravo sir!

Looks great! I’ve put multiple lengths together on a ladder step or something so I could spray multiple at once. Helped speed up the process

I just got some more square stock and speedrail. I used your method with the two ladders. Can’t believe how much time and bending over you saved me lol thank you!

I like the idea of painting the ends and inside of the speedrail. Painting the outside would look tacky. I like the way you decided to do it. Great Video. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback

It is much better to paint the inside of the rail because over time the paint on the outside will chip and get scratched off from sliding hardware over it. Good call on painting them like you did.

Thanks Scott! Took a lot more time than I expected but I really like the look. It’s the little things that make y’a feel good!

the inside paint looks super clean. I spent so many hours back in high school organizing gear closets, storage unit reminds me of some of the smaller ones we had.

Yeah the unit is on the small side. I just moved in and it’s intended to only be for a few months. It’s forcing me to consolidate which I appreciate. Thanks for your notes!

@@PancakeLighting also quick question, was there any logic behind which colors you made each length, or did you choose the colors randomly?
@PancakeLighting2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I just used the colors that I had at my house. No real logic behind it. But, I over think everything so the shorter lengths are lighter colors (white, orange) and the long pipe is darker (purple, blue). I don’t really think it makes a difference tho my brain just likes systems.

Really appreciate you making videos like this as there are so few G&E-specific resources for people starting out. I would be really interested in seeing how you went about building that gel organ as that's something I've been looking into tackling myself.
@PancakeLighting2 жыл бұрын
You bet bud happy to help. That gel organ was actually a hand-me-down from another gaffer and I’m about to pass along to the next guy. It’s just a little too big for me to carry. If you want to email me I’m happy to send pics of the inside and hopefully that will be enough to get you going.
